Diamond Plaza Hotel Suratthani

The room was clean, the view was beautiful, the breakfast buffet was very good, but nothing special. Quiet and beautiful swimming pool during the day (there are many Thais after 4 pm); opposite the Yichu Lotus (5 minutes walk), very close to the city center shopping mall, and there are shuttle buses! When going out, don't take the blue tucktuck taxi in front of the hotel (they are special pits), if you want to go to the city center during the day. Just wait at the bus stop in front of the hotel... Tickets are about 10 to 20 baht, depending on the number of stops.
100 Islands Resort & Spa

This ageing but very well cared for, wheelchair friendly hotel was perfect for a transit stop en-route to Koh Samui apart from 2 things. Firstly, the location on Google Maps is hopelessly inaccurate, and the best advice the staff could give was to find Lotus's (could have been worse, they could have said 7-11). If we could find Lotus's, we'd be able to see the hotel from there. Second problem was, after a long journey, we did not want to go in search of food. The hotel restaurant was not open for evening meals. Staff directed us to a street food place, just outside the hotel - not very nice, and we left more than we ate. I got the feeling we suffered because the hotel was still getting back on its feet post Covid. I would most definitely recommend this hotel as a transit stopover en-route to the islands.
Nai C Resort

It is located a little bit to the center of the city, more than 20 kilometers from the airport. The resort is not that big, not as big as the Neelawat resort. In fact, they are all family hotels and they can be shaped. But the rooms are next to each other, I don't like it very much. I like single-family houses, just like Neelawat. In addition, the gym here is the funniest. Right next to the front desk, there are 5 equipments: a 5kg dumbbell, which I assembled; a fitness bench, which is very broken; a fitness frame, which is very old and weighs 200 kg. Don't use it, it will drop shit; a treadmill; a spinning bike. The swimming pool is not big, but it is very deep, and the deep water area is very deep. Don't get caught in swimming, you will drown. There are many old sharp edges on the shore of the swimming pool. My two big toes have been cut six times. I am lucky to have no bleeding. But, however, it is very close to the Centre Festival shopping mall and is a good starting point to watch movies and clubbing, the riverside night market, and the Monday and Saturday night market. Because it's near. Of course, going to the dentist to fix your teeth is much cheaper than in China. The technology is good. Unfortunately, if you want to start from here to fix your teeth, you have to live in Wanlun for at least half a month, otherwise you will not have enough time.
Orchid Riverview Hotel

One soon gets the feeling that management policy is cutting corners. From the lack of product in the bathroom, thin towels, extra thin toilet paper, thin tissues on the breakfast table etc. Having said all that, this rather large hotel is well designed with a beautiful foyer reception area. Pool is rather ordinary though. Our room is large with a sofa and a small balcony. Riverview is minimal from our balcony. The most interesting thing for us about the river is a house built in the river and takes up most of the river in front of the hotel... quite bazar. See photo
River Nature Hotel

Like most things in Thailand everything looks nice from the outside. The price on agoda was 366 baht and then in 5 mins it said everything was sold out but the deluxe room (so do not book with them). When I arrived it's completely empty. No one speaks basic English. I couldn't even order a coffee. I wasted 40 mins running back and forth from the restaurant to the front desk trying to ask if they had real coffee not instant coffee. Even though they have pictures of actual coffee everywhere. After kind of talking to the manager she says the free instant coffee is the same as the coffee you pay for in the restaurant. I do not recommend this place as its far from everything. Better stay in a place in town, pay much less and deal with the same stuff. Also the shower is very low and the shower head is a small rectangle. When I arrived there is no soap, the air-con wasn't on and the fridge wasn't even plugged in. There is almost no light in the bathroom as well and don't bother with the television.
