The Jolly Farmer

We had booked as we were going to a wedding locally. The owner was really accommodating in allowing us early access to our rooms to change before normal checking-in time. The rooms were super clean and really well equipped with anything you may need including fresh milk in an accessible fridge for teas and coffee and complementary sherry! Good full English breakfast. Fascinating bar area stacked with history on every inch of wall and ceiling. Good car parking at the rear of the hotel.

My partner and I have been here quite a few times and it's so friendly and family orientated. It's the perfect pub for a good sized portion of delious food to. We have had carvery on Sundays and been there for meals during the week. Excellent service always.

Remember those old 1950s films where the English Country Tavern was the one you wished existed in real life ? The pub that all your overseas friends - especially the Americans - think is in every English town & village but in reality is definitely not? Well actually... here it is! The Jolly Farmers is That Pub!! From the moment you walk in - front door or back - you are assailed with ephemera, old style advertising, ancient farming implements - on the walls, the doors , the ceilings - you could be on a film set - it’s breathtakingly beautiful. Visited with friends for the famous Sunday lunch - the food was absolutely divine - a selection of four roast meats - the beef was without doubt the best I’ve eaten in over 30 years and carved to perfection with incredible knife skills - a buffet run so efficiently with a fabulous selection of hot and fresh vegetables and giant delicious yorkies. Fantastic selection of beers and a well stocked bar with super efficient bar staff. The restaurant staff were wonderful - disarmingly so ! They were happy to be there and it showed - it doesn’t get much better than that. Everything was spotless - seriously - and none of the ubiquitous “Anti-bac” to be seen - much to our relief. Finally - they get that we ladies like to hang our handbags in the bathroom, rather than leave them on the floor. Genius placing of hip height hooks - why doesn’t everyone do this?? Thank you just for that incredibly thoughtful move - A truly delightful pub and everything you imagined an English Country Pub should be.

Excellent Sunday roast! Wide variety of hot, al dente vegetables, generous carvery, with a choice of four different meats, plus best Yorkshires and roasties ever! Top this succulent feast with delicious gravy and Sunday has become heaven.

We stayed in the suite which was charming and clean and comfortable (appreciated the complementary sherry!). We had dinner in the pub - delicious burgers and spent the evening there. The service was friendly, the wine and beer good and the atmosphere great. It is located by the river Wey which you can reach through a delightful walk through the woods. It is a great spot for wild swimming. We will definitely be back. 100% recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights at the 3 bedroom flat across the road from the pub. It was spotlessly clean and plenty of room for small children, parents and grandparents. There are three bedrooms, 2 wc/shower/bathrooms and a large kitchen/diner/lounge. When you arrive you enter a shared staircase which leads to the private flat. The initial impression of the shared staircase could be enhanced by a new carpet on the stairs, but once into the flat it is well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has all the cooking equoipment needed, but we also hadanevening meal at the very quaint Jolly Farmer. The food was fantastic, with a good choice and great quantities and quality. We will be making another reservation soon.
