Kamisuwa Onsen Shinyu

This is a neat ryokan hotel that minimizes the inconveniences of a traditional ryokan while seamlessly incorporating modern services. The dinner is excellent, though it may be a matter of personal preference. It is a bit of a distance from the station, but if you inquire with the hotel, they will assist you in using the shuttle bus for check-in and check-out. The male staff member who served dinner was very kind; I noticed he also worked as a parking attendant in the morning.

A group of five of us shared a room and had a wonderful day. The hotel also included two meals: breakfast and dinner. Since the dinner was past the agreed time, the hotel staff was very nice and came to check and remind us. Very thoughtful. A great experience, from the hot springs to the service and accommodations...

We used this hotel to celebrate my father's 88th birthday. I called the staff before our stay to let them know I wanted to bring in a cake as a surprise. Upon arrival, they moved the car and kept the cake safe so my father wouldn't find out.

The room I booked was a regular tatami room, but the lake view was great. The hotel service was really considerate and thoughtful. I arrived early and was told during check-in that there was a free bus tour of the four major shrines of Suwa, including a driver's explanation throughout the trip. Due to my poor Japanese, I only understood the general idea and didn't understand any of the details. The four shrines of Suwa Taisha were originally quite scattered, but now it's easy to take them all. The breakfast was made with local specialties and was very healthy.

This hotel in Kamisuwa has a really good location. You can enjoy the lake view while sitting on the bed. Of course, the price is also very good. The overall service is good and the hygiene is also very good. The hotel can pick up and drop off at the JR station. You need to make an appointment in advance. The only regret is that the breakfast here is not as good as I expected, and I didn't even eat enough.
