Pan Pacific Suzhou

An absolutely wonderful experience! The entire hotel was designed by Singapore's Temasek Group and is seamlessly integrated with the Panmen Scenic Area. The hotel itself is built around a traditional Chinese garden layout, cleverly concealing eight distinct attractions. Its back entrance leads directly into the Panmen Scenic Area, and with your hotel key card, you get unlimited access throughout the day, along with services like Hanfu rental. The hotel itself is impeccable, with top-notch amenities, including the pool and gym. The customer service staff are also very professional. I noticed many foreigners, especially Singaporeans, staying here. The only minor drawback is that the rooms are spread across multiple buildings, making the hotel quite large. On my first visit, it took me a while to navigate from the front desk to my room. Also, the front desk is on the 3rd floor, while the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors, which can be a bit confusing when coming and going.

A year and a half ago, I stayed at the Wugong Royal Banquet Hotel and had a good impression, so this time I decisively booked the Pan Pacific Suzhou, which is a step above. The check-in experience was excellent! With the hotel room card, you get unlimited access to the Panmen Scenic Area, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of the ancient pagoda and city gates in the early morning and at night, which was incredibly convenient. We even caught a 'Datihua' (iron flower) performance in the evening. The front desk service was attentive, and the breakfast offered a full range of Chinese and Western options. The Chinese restaurant was also fantastic. The garden pool is elegant and serene, offering a peaceful escape amidst the city's hustle and bustle. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou.

The hotel has a swimming pool and a gym, so the facilities are excellent. The hotel's interior design is truly impressive; walking in feels like entering a palace. It's full of Suzhou garden-style elements, and there were many foreigners around. The room facilities were also great, and overall, it offers fantastic value for money.

The lotus flowers are in full bloom in the hotel's Ruiyuan and Chiyuan gardens. The upturned eaves, pavilions, and waterside gazebos serve as natural frames, perfectly capturing the lovely lotus pond. Layers of verdant lotus leaves spread out, offering a refreshing coolness in the height of summer. Double-petaled lotus flowers reflect in the water, unfurling in layers like a beauty's sheer veil – pink without being gaudy, delicate without being over-the-top. A gentle breeze sweeps through, making the flower branches sway and a subtle fragrance waft. Amidst the winding bridges and corridors, pavilion shadows dance in the pond, creating a harmonious interplay between the classical garden and the vibrant red lotuses, making every step a poetic experience.

This hotel is an investment by Singapore's Temasek Holdings, and it attracts a good number of international guests, especially from Singapore. The overall environment of the hotel is quite pleasant, feeling almost like a garden. However, there are some shortcomings: 1. The lobby, both in terms of overall size and the front desk area, is very cramped, leading to overcrowding and noise. 2. Among the front desk staff, some colleagues are very dedicated, like Jane, who, despite appearing new, is very conscientious. However, another young man, Jerry, seemed to lack patience. 3. In the rooms, the air conditioning's cooling performance was only average. 4. For a foreign-invested hotel, all the English 'Guest' signs in the elevators were misspelled. Overall, the hotel's location is decent. However, it primarily caters to group tour clients, and the attention given to individual travelers seems to be a bit weaker. I hope to see improvements in the future.
