Crowne Plaza SUZHOU by IHG Reviews

I've been to Suzhou countless times since I was a child, going on spring outings there, and also because I love Suzhou pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing). So, when planning a short, leisurely trip, Suzhou is usually my go-to. This time, I specifically chose a hotel in the Jinji Lake Scenic Area to experience modern, new Suzhou. After staying two nights at the Crowne Plaza Suzhou, I highly recommend this hotel! The location is superb. You step right out into a shopping district and a metro station. You can conveniently reach Shantang Street, North Temple Pagoda (yesterday, I walked from North Temple Pagoda through Pishi Street to Guanqian Street, then east to Daru Lane and Pingjiang Road – it was amazing for someone who loves Suzhou like me) by taking Metro Line 1 and transferring to Line 2 or 4. The shopping district around the hotel is also great, making shopping and dining very convenient. This morning, I took a comfortable one-hour walk along the Jinji Lake shore from the hotel. Now, about the hotel itself. If you're driving, parking is very convenient (the underground garage has a direct elevator). The front desk staff were very warm and attentive, and both check-in and check-out were incredibly fast (actually, before my trip, a staff member proactively called and added me on WeChat, sending hotel information and answering many of my questions). The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The breakfast had a rich variety, with both Chinese and Western options, and tasted great. The value for money is excellent. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely choose Crowne Plaza Suzhou again. Afterward, I asked and found out the front desk staff member who proactively contacted me was named Dolphin 🐬 and the room attendant was Scallop (their names perfectly fit the hotel's theme). Thank you for your excellent service! I hope your leaders see this and give you bigger year-end bonuses. Hahaha.

Overall, my stay was quite good. Although there was a small issue at the beginning, the concierge service was prompt and efficient in resolving and following up. Their attitude was truly excellent. They even decorated the room for our anniversary, which was a very thoughtful touch – kudos to Haixing and Shanbei! The hotel breakfast was extensive, featuring special Suzhou-style braised noodles and two kinds of freshly squeezed juices. The baguette was also delicious. The location is superb, with easy walking access to Suzhou Center. The indoor pool's water temperature was just right, and it was clean and bright. All the hotel staff actively greeted guests, which was a nice touch. Thumbs up!👍

Great location! We got a free room upgrade with views of the Gate of the Orient and the lake, which my kids absolutely loved. The Suzhou-style noodles for breakfast were delicious, though it was a bit crowded on the weekend. It would be even better if breakfast hours were extended slightly. We also bought a buffet dinner package at the hotel, and after eating, we still had time to watch the fountain and light show from the outdoor deck at 7:30 PM. We'll definitely bring the kids back again!

My first impression of this hotel was like 'living amidst a beautiful landscape.' Its unique cruise ship-like design stands right on the edge of Jinji Lake. From the lobby to the rooms, the floor-to-ceiling windows frame the lake view and the Gate of the Orient on the opposite bank into a living painting. The staff were friendly and efficient during check-in, proactively introducing the hotel's features and the surrounding area. The interior design strongly adheres to a nautical theme, with elements like starfish and deer. While the hotel isn't newly renovated, it's clean and comfortable. Combined with its unparalleled location and views, the overall experience was excellent. It also offers family-friendly amenities and fitness facilities, making it suitable for both families and business travelers. Thumbs up!

This was my second time staying at the Crowne Plaza, and this time I booked a suite. The room was clean and tidy. Before I even checked in, Carrie took note of my itinerary and arranged everything perfectly. The view was absolutely stunning. After check-out, Jessie promptly followed up to ask about my stay. Overall, the service was excellent, and I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance.

This hotel opened a while ago, but the facilities are still well-maintained. The staff are very friendly, and room service is incredibly fast. They were also very generous with a free room upgrade. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic with a wide variety of options. The only downside is that the room's ventilation system isn't great; it was constantly stuffy and hot. I couldn't sleep at night because of the heat, and even opening the window didn't help, as the air conditioning wouldn't turn on when it was that warm.

The hotel's location and views by Jinji Lake are superb. Last time I stayed at Niccolo Hotel across the lake, but this time at Crowne Plaza, I felt the Crowne Plaza's location was even better. Of course, Niccolo Hotel has more updated decor. Although the hotel lobby looks a bit dated, the views are unbeatable and the space is vast, which is great 👍. Next time I'll try staying at the Lamborghini hotel next door to see what's different, as I hear it's under the same owner.

Coral checked me in, and I was really happy with the room I got. I could even see the Gate of the Orient at night, which I loved! After settling in, I asked Carrie to send up a bathtub liner, and taking a bath was so relaxing. Even though the hotel has been open for a while, the facilities are still excellent, and the cleanliness is top-notch. Plus, there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

This is my second time staying at the Crowne Plaza near Suzhou Center, and it seems my child has a special fondness for this hotel, always wanting to stay here. Downstairs, there's a children's play area, and the lobby features many models and display vehicles, which are quite impressive. I hadn't noticed before, but this time I discovered that during dinner, the lobby music wasn't from a speaker but live piano and vocal performances, which was very elegant and beautiful. The Christmas and Chinese New Year decorations created a particularly festive atmosphere. We chose window seats for both breakfast and dinner buffets, and the view was exceptional, offering sights of Jinji Lake's shoreline with speedboats and small boats. There's also a swimming pool, which the kids enjoyed, and a complimentary afternoon tea at the executive lounge. The service was meticulous. All in all, my child insisted I give it a full five-star review, and the hotel genuinely deserves it.

I chose Crowne Plaza Suzhou for my birthday. Before check-in, Carrie messaged me and arranged a wonderful lake-view room, which I loved. She patiently answered all my questions. The room was fantastic, offering beautiful views of Jinji Lake and the Gate of the Orient. I was also pleasantly surprised by a special birthday card she arranged for me. Thank you, Carrie and Jessie! ❤️ The hotel's location is also excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Suzhou Center. For the old town, I recommend taking a taxi; it's only about ten yuan, very convenient.

Staying at the Crowne Plaza Suzhou was an experience beyond my expectations! The hotel boasts stunning views of Jinji Lake. Staff members Labelle and Layla provided meticulous and thoughtful service, making my entire stay, from check-in to check-out, incredibly pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bedding was especially soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of both Western and Chinese options, all delicious. The indoor pool and gym facilities were excellent; my only suggestion would be to provide towels inside the changing rooms as well, rather than just at the entrance, for convenience.

This trip exceeded all my expectations, I'm incredibly satisfied! Even though Ctrip customer service didn't fully communicate my requests, the hotel was very generous. They upgraded me directly to an executive lake view room, which instantly elevated the whole experience. Getting an upgrade, especially to such a great room type during a holiday, is truly rare. The room offered views of both the lake and the 'Big Trousers' building. The hotel's service was impeccable; they were so good with kids, even giving them balloons and rings. All in all, it's an excellent family-friendly hotel. The playground is also better than those at most other hotels. The pool was great too, though we didn't get to try the outdoor one during our winter visit – we hope to return in the summer to experience it. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Suzhou for three reasons: first, its excellent location; second, its service quality and standards far surpass those of Crowne Plaza; and third, the hotel is very accommodating and good to children.

I booked a lake view room in advance and Layla helped me arrange a room that I really liked. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. It's only a 5-minute walk to the "Big Trousers" (CCTV Headquarters building), which is super handy. The hotel has many restaurants, including a seafood hotpot, which is quite good. The breakfast area is also lovely, and the dumplings are delicious, though you might have to queue a bit during holidays due to the crowds. Carrie's service during my stay was very warm and welcoming. There's also a musical fountain show in the evening, which was great to see live. I'd definitely come back again. Room: Unable to cast to the TV, which was a bit of a letdown. However, the beautiful views outside more than made up for it. The lobby has a great vibe.
