Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou

My second stay this month in a Deluxe Club Twin Suite. Last time I was on the 34th floor, this time on the 43rd. There are only three rooms of this type in the entire hotel. Last time, Cecile handled my check-out, and this time she was also there for my check-in. Cecile remembered me and kindly helped me arrange a late check-out. Lying in bed, overlooking the night view of Shishan Road through the floor-to-ceiling windows was so therapeutic. Running into a former colleague at the elevator entrance during breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Swimming in the sun this morning was incredibly relaxing. I think I'll be back again very soon.

I booked in late August and received a free upgrade to the 44th floor. The breakfast was quite lavish. Starting our Suzhou trip in the peak of summer, with the scorching sun outside, staying at the Shangri-La on Tayuan Road was truly the most comfortable solace of the journey. The hotel boasts an excellent location, making getting around incredibly smooth and convenient for visiting all the major attractions. The surrounding commercial area is well-equipped with plenty of dinner options. Stepping into the hotel, a cool and pleasant feeling immediately washes over you. The room was clean and airy, with simple yet elegant soft furnishings and soft, skin-friendly bedding. After a day of exploring, returning to the room allowed us to shed all the summer heat and fatigue. All the staff were warm and genuinely hospitable. Our guest manager, Lisa, was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive, providing detailed recommendations for activities, and promptly and properly arranging all our needs, big or small. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. In our free time, we enjoyed splashing around in the pool, escaping the summer heat. The entire trip was relaxed and enjoyable, creating truly wonderful memories. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, was very satisfied. If we ever return to Suzhou, this will still be our first choice for accommodation. Highly recommended.

The subway station is right outside, making it super easy to reach all the attractions I wanted to see with just a few stops. It balanced practicality with safety, perfectly meeting the needs of families with children. The hotel breakfast offered a rich and thoughtfully curated selection, blending local Suzhou flavors with diverse Western dishes. The authentic Jiangnan specialty snacks were fresh and delicious, and the dedicated children's dining area had a variety of exquisite and cute options made with fresh, healthy ingredients that suited children's tastes. It was a perfect, immersive stay—comfortable and healing. Next time I visit Suzhou with my child, this will definitely be my first choice again.

The guest rooms are situated on the 28th floor and higher, offering breathtaking panoramic views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. During the day, you can gaze upon the Shishan scenery, and at night, overlook the city's twinkling lights – truly an immersive ambiance. The room was spacious and clean, with soft and comfortable bedding, excellent soundproofing, a well-designed wet/dry separation in the bathroom, and high-quality toiletries. It felt very reassuring to stay here. The breakfast selection was extensive, with the authentic and delicious Su-style red soup noodles allowing you to savor the flavors of Jiangnan. The hotel also boasts a well-equipped heated swimming pool and gym, perfect for relaxing during your downtime. The staff were professional and attentive; check-in was efficient, and their demeanor was gentle and courteous, making you feel right at home. It's suitable for both business trips and family vacations. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou!
