The hotel room looks decent although tiny as I got the micro double, and it’s definitely only large enough for one traveller (as I was). On the first night i checked in, I noticed that there were a couple of black stains on the bed sheets, under the pillows on half side of the bed and when i told concierge to change the sheets the next day - all that was done to my room was the neatening of bed sheets and new toiletries provided. However, what was NOT done was the cleaning out of trash, and new bed sheets. When I told concierge on day 2 that the sheets were not changed, the lady at the front desk gave me ‘new’ sheets which also had similar black markings. Also on day 2 and 3 - the bins were still NOT emptied and new toiletries or coffee/ tea were NOT provided. When I asked front desk about how much parking would cost, they couldn’t give me a definite amount, and when I asked if room service was supposed to come with the emptying of bins on a daily basis - I was informed that it should be provided as well. This experience was so uncomfortable, that I cancelled my booking for Veriu Central at the second half of my trip. But I must say all staff were extremely nice and friendly. However room service desperately needs to be improved upon. I did NOT get my money’s worth for 3 nights of stay at this hotel. I would NOT recommend anyone who values cleanliness as much as I do.

Establishment Hotel

Location drew me to Establishment, situated near some of my favourite restaurants in Sydney and close to the venue where I was doing business. Establishment delivers for location. I also chose Establishment for a little bit of luxury to break a heavy work schedule and it did not live up to expectation. It seems to be a great party crash hotel for the bucks/hens night with few services that really speak to the time poor luxury business traveller. It’s beautifully styled with a comfortable bed, but that is about the limit. It’s the services and the quality of the room features that let it down. No 24 hour room service and a menu that is not reflective of the quality of the food precinct it’s situated in. (I went out to get an excellent take away breakfast that I brought back to my room rather than order anything from the scant breakfast menu that looked like a take away menu). I left my computer power charger at home, but concierge could not help me with one to borrow or ideas on where I could buy a replacement. The bath is very narrow and not much hot water - I boiled the kettle to get it a bit warmer. Hunter products in the bathroom but there was no hair conditioner and few of the little luxuries that you would expect in such a stylish bathroom such as extra towels, make up mirrors/lighting, an extra soap for the bath. The room fittings are pretty tired and scuffed up. It’s certainly ready for a bit of a renovation/ refresh. The carpet looks like it’s seem some amazing parties. The room, particularly the bathroom, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite it being a non smoking hotel. The bathroom shower curtain was really dirty and needs to be replaced. Lots of marks on the walls and scuff marks on furniture - looks tired and a bit worn out. There is no dedicated space to work for business travellers, other than a long table near the window but I had to sit on the bed. Inside the lift the small seating looks like it had seen some parties as well and not clean enough to sit on. No hand sanitiser anywhere. This was the most expensive room rate for the CBD area I wanted to be in, and the result was disappointing. As a lover of boutique hotels, I was looking forward to staying here, but based on this experience I won’t return and can’t recommend this one.

I booked this for our anniversary staycation. We usually do this every year so I didn’t expect much but what differs this from the other hotel that we’ve been to is their sweet gesture of leaving some sweet treats with greetings. Hotel location is about 10mins walk to townhall. Which is very convenient. About 5mins walk to St. Mary’s church
Ibis Sydney World Square

I stayed for one night as I needed to be close to World Square. The hotel is not in World Square, which is a modern building, but across the road. The bare room had badly chipped paint on the dark wall and worn, thin, marked carpet. The air conditioning control is operated by reception, and one air-conditioning unit shared over I was told 10 rooms - you cannot adjust the air conditioning from within the room which was extremely frustrating. A large sign on the shower box asks you to use hairdryers and aerosols inside the bathroom or you may be liable for a $1600 call out fee to the NSW fire department if the fire alarm goes off. The shower leaked over the bathroom floor and the glass shower doors bang loudly which you could also hear from the next room. The staff were very pleasant. Any Accor members looking for a comfortable stay I would recommend Hotel Morris which I called in to see when passing only half a block away and newly opened.

Hello! I am a guest in room 8203. During my stay in the hotel, I felt the warm, friendly and considerate service of your hotel staff, which made us feel like family in the cold winter. Special thanks to the staff responsible for the cleaning of Room 8203, who clean up carefully and conscientiously for us every time. When the weather turns cold, they take the initiative to replace the thick quilts for us. There are not enough drying racks, so they take out their own clothes hangers for us. The room The door card was broken, and I contacted the engineer to repair it, and provided us with a lot of help. I hope that the leaders of your hotel can praise her, and thank you again!
