HOSHINOYA Guguan

The environment, service, and facilities are all perfect. It's worth making a special trip to Guguan just for this hotel.

Overall, I was quite disappointed. Right from check-in, the staff couldn't find my reservation, and they even asked for my surname in English, and the number and gender of guests, which was a bit odd. I noticed a lot of things because I was waiting for my luggage in the lobby for a very long time. The seating area around the art installation in the lobby was dusty, especially the back rows, and the outdoor area was full of fallen leaves. While I was busy with my child and family arranging crafts, my luggage had already been taken to the room. When I realized I needed my carry-on bag, the staff said they would retrieve it from the room for me (we hadn't even checked into the room yet). I had a carry-on with my child's daily essentials, and my child needed to use the restroom. So, we waited in the lobby for that bag for nearly 20 minutes. Regarding the other facilities, the welcome tea was incredibly simple. The window in our room had large water stains on the glass (I initially thought it was fog). Below our room, there was an area with weeds and what looked like abandoned moss, which felt out of place. It seemed like the most effort the hotel put in was the gardening, and I couldn't understand why this particular area existed; it was a huge contrast. Considering all meal costs are extra, it really didn't offer good value for money at all. The food, however, was very good, and the laundry service was a plus. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming. If the room rates were lower, I might consider revisiting. But if the prices and facilities remain as they are, I won't be returning.

The staff warmly welcomed us, even though we primarily speak Japanese. It was a wonderful stay, allowing us to experience something extraordinary in a comfortable and secure environment. Although there weren't many activities available in Japanese, which meant we couldn't participate, we thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs and the beautiful scenery. Thank you very much!

Environment: Great, quiet, and comfortable. Facilities: Excellent, the hot springs are fantastic with both indoor and outdoor options. Hygiene: Very clean and tidy. Service: The staff are all very friendly and enthusiastic, and there's a high staff-to-guest ratio. Dining: Breakfast is very rich and varied.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Taiwan. The staff, the hotel itself, and the meals are all top-notch.

The interior was spotless. However, the exterior was overgrown with dead leaves and weeds. The food was incredibly cheap, I was stunned by how much it didn't match the price.

The price doesn't match the overall experience. At this price point, I would choose to go abroad instead.
