Taiyuan Southeast B&B South Railway Station

The hotel accepts foreigners (as of March 2026). This was my third stay there. Again got a room with a private toilet, which was nice to have. The room was small, but good enough for one night before catching the train the next morning. Very convenient for those transiting in Taiyuan. Great value for money.

The hotel is located just next to the Taiyuan South train station (East Exit) and bus stops, making it really convenient for a short stay in the city, when you need to depart the next morning. You can also buy some snacks and drinks that are already waiting on a table in the hotel (you just need to scan a QR code to pay). But it's nearly impossible to find and if someone is not speaking Chinese, it might be impossible... The hotel is in fact a big apartment located inside a community. I found it with the help of the locals. The room itself was tiny but that's OK for the price I payed. I had problems with hot water in the shower and nobody to ask for help. Also the hotel is smoking-friendly, which taking into consideration, that it's just a regular apartment, means, that if one guest is smoking, the smoke stinks in the whole place 😬...

Very conveniently located near Taiyuan Southern Train Station. The room smellt a little cigarette but it was ok.

We missed our train to Datong, and ended up staying at this hotel in Taiyuan for the night. The hotel staff met us at the station. She was so helpful and lovely. She was one of the nicest people we met in China. It is basic accommodation, the bed was big and comfortable. It was really good for the price. Thank you again.

Convenient location next to the train station. Nice lady waiting for me from my check-in. The room was not very clean but passable, the bathroom was unfortunately very dirty, barely usable.

It’s not fancy, not very clean, but one can see they really try their best to provide good accommodation. And the staff is very nice and does whatever she can to help. And it’s really close to the train station
