This is a lovely guesthouse - beautifully designed rooms and charming common areas, every detail has been well thought out for an exceptionally comfortable stay. And to top it off, the owner and host is a remarkable human being. He is kind, good humoured, and generous in sharing his deep knowledge, not only of Takamatsu and local treasures, but of the entire Shikoku 88 pilgrimage. We were so fortunate to finish our pilgrimage with his unparalleled guidance. A memorable stay.

This is a lovely welcoming guesthouse. It is clean and well equipped. Super tatami mat rooms with futons. Everything has been thought of. The host Mr Wakabaya is superb. Very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and all the information we needed. Thank you!

Wonderful guesthouse with all the amenities you could wish for. Right on the Shikoku 88 route. Amazing (English speaking) host who provides you with plenty of helpful insights about Japan and/or Shikoku.

It’s a nice and very clean inn. The room was small, but very well matching my needs. I got extra guidance to restaurants and breweries, which I enjoyed as well. The location is quite central to get out for temples or sightseeing in general. Thanks a lot for hosting me and for your support

Staying at Wakabaya Guesthouse was amazing! The place was very clean and very nicely set up. The owner and the family were all kind and welcoming. One of the most resourceful and helpful places I stayed. If you have any questions, they will be glad to answer them when you stay at the Guesthouse. Highly recommended stay in Takamatsu

The guest house is similar to a hostel with tatami rooms, futons and a shared kitchen area. The host Takeshi is genial and urbane, speaks excellent English and has a host of ideas for activities. We enjoyed a little boat trip to the nearby islands of Megijima & Ogijima, as well as a visit to the interesting castle near the ferry port.

Guesthouse Wakabaya is a lovely, cozy place in the Japanese style and very clean. It offers everything one could possibly need (toiletries, tea and coffee for refreshment). It's conveniently located just a 5 minutes walk from the tram. The host is very friendly and helpful with finding local places to eat. He has a lot of information and maps available. He also responded promptly to our emails. We had lovely time and would stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at Wakabaya! Takeshi is an expert guide on all things Shikoku and was able to help us plan our days. He has excellent taste in food and drink too, so we never went without a recommendation. Our rooms were tidy and clean. Would definitely stay here again.
