Had a very comfortable trip. It wasn't crowded this season. The buffet taste was pretty average, and I didn't get the free beer I saw advertised online. Overall, considering the great price, it was still a decent stay.

I stayed here in early February, and the weather was perfect. The stunning snow views from the window were fantastic for photos. The village roads outside the hotel have hot spring water flowing along them, giving off a strong sulfur smell. The hotel's breakfast and dinner buffets offer a decent variety of dishes, and I left feeling very satisfied. I'd recommend not arriving too late to avoid missing the peak dining hours, as there aren't many other restaurants nearby. Regarding transportation: We bought a two-day pass from Takayama Station. We initially planned to go to Honoki Daira Ski Resort at H32 (which we did visit the next day and highly recommend!). Since it was our first time, we had to actively request stops, and we accidentally overshot our stop, so we ended up checking into the hotel first. The hotel is located near stop H37. We got off at Hirayu Ski Resort (H36) to ski and then walked about 1 kilometer to the hotel, which was quite convenient. The hotel offers easy access to Shinhotaka and Takayama JR Station, making our trip very smooth. The room was spacious, a typical Japanese-style room, and even had an entertainment area. KTV was chargeable, but the ping-pong room was free! The male and female hot spring baths had a shared relaxation area where you could enjoy ice cream. Our stay was comfortable and atmospheric; overall, it was a great experience. The price dropped several times, so I re-booked frequently – which was incredibly convenient!

This hotel is super close to Hirayu Onsen bus station, just a few minutes' walk away. It's a pretty big place. After checking in, you swap your shoes for slippers, and you can wear the provided yukata (Japanese robes) throughout the entire hot spring hotel. To avoid lugging our luggage up and down, we opted for a slightly more expensive Western-style standard room in the main building. They have an outdoor onsen, and the men's and women's baths switch daily. After a relaxing soak, there's free ice cream available. We had dinner and breakfast included, both buffet style, but the taste was just so-so.

Hirayu Onsen is a well-known hot spring in Japan, and it's incomparable to those that aren't natural. The elevation is quite high, so it often snows in winter, making for beautiful scenery. The 'one-night, two-meals' plan with two buffet meals was absolutely fantastic. My recommendations are usually spot-on. Plus, they offer free ramen for a late-night snack.

The hotel is very close to the bus stop, has a nice atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the Japanese buffet dinner.

I booked two rooms and reviewed them twice. The location is excellent. Hirayu Onsen is conveniently located between Takayama and Shinhotaka, making it about an hour's drive to Takayama, Shinhotaka, Honoki Ski Resort, and Matsumoto, which is great for kids. The road to Shinhotaka has many winding turns, which can cause motion sickness for seniors and children, so stopping halfway helps a lot. You'll need to book dinner in advance, as there aren't many dining options nearby, and the buffet is a good choice for both seniors and children. The hotel service gets a 5-star rating!

The overall facilities and environment meet the standards of a well-established five-star resort hotel. It's quite large, and while it's older, it's well-maintained. The tatami flooring looks quite new, so it seems to have been renovated. I booked a one-night stay with two meals; dinner was a buffet, and overall, it offered great value for money. The hot spring facilities are also good, not crowded, and it was very relaxing to soak after returning from Shinhotaka. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

It snowed heavily the night we arrived, but the next morning the weather was beautiful and the snow-capped mountains were stunning. The hotel's location is very convenient. There was an event that night, and a shuttle bus took us to Hirayu Falls where there were fireworks and illuminations – it was really fun! The hotel breakfast was also good. One night felt a bit too short.
