Hotel Kuretakeso Takayama-Ekimae Reviews

This hotel is very close to Takayama Station, though you do have to cross a skybridge to get there. The rooms are clean and tidy, and they're cleaned daily. If you don't need daily cleaning, the front desk will give you a complimentary bottle of water. They have public baths, hot springs, and free massage chairs. For breakfast, each person gets a Hida beef dish, and while the variety isn't huge, there's definitely enough to fill you up. The only downside is that the staff's English isn't great, so you'll need to use a translation app. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Takayama is a great travel destination, whether you're heading to Kamikochi or exploring the city center. This hotel is conveniently located right next to Takayama Station, with a McDonald's nearby and a supermarket just behind it. The snacks there are even cheaper than at convenience stores and other supermarkets.

The semi-double room was slightly small, it was hard to walk in the room with our luggages laid out. The bed was clean and comfortable.The toilet was also clean and has hot water. Toothbrushes, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, towels are provided. There is a free happy hour drink. There are serum, lotion, face cleanser provided in the lobby. Was an enjoyable stay and Takayama is a quiet city to stay in and good stopover location to travel out to nearby attractions.

Just a few minutes' walk from Takayama Station, this hotel is clean and quiet, and the breakfast spread is fantastic. They also have a wall full of manga for free reading! There aren't many good restaurants right around the hotel though; you'll need to walk at least 15 minutes to find some good food. The Hida beef in Takayama is absolutely delicious – I was so satisfied every day!

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean, with tatami mats. We stayed in a triple room, and there was plenty of space. The shower was great, and the location was super convenient, right next to McDonald's near Takayama Station.

The hotel is at the another side of train station , around 15mins walk to the main shopping street , unexpectedly there is hot stone bath available in the hotel, got free massage chair for to use, room is clean , staffs are friendly

Hotel is far from train station 700-800 meter. Breakfast is good food.

The hotel is in a convenient location and offers great facilities, including coin laundry, a coffee machine, a public bath, and even massage chairs for relaxation. While most staff members were not particularly friendly, there was one young gentleman who stood out for his warm and helpful attitude.

Hotel is nice & room is comfortable with full amenities provided. Love the gestures of providing daily complimentary 1 drink per guest. Love the onsite onsen & full amenities provided in the onsen. Will definitely come back to stay if I will to come back to Takayama. Location is good as it’s best the train & bus station. Can move around at ease.

Nice hotel with good service. They offer free drinks and snacks during happy hour, which can totally save you a dinner meal.

The location of the hotel is awesome. Next to the Takayama station and 2 large supermarkets nearby. There is a mcdonald's barista cafe right beside the hotel for late night coffee and snacks. The room are comfortable and the hotel provided useful amenities such as shoe dryers which were definitely useful due to the wet weather hikes we took. However we experienced differential treatment by the staffs based on race. Caucasian tourists were given more leeway in their behaviour while we were kept on a tight leash. Eg we were told we cannot drink and make noise in the lobby. I understand and respect this requirement. But I cannot accept that the caucasian tourists doing the same things and even more noisy then us are left alone. If rules are expected to be followed, it should apply to all guests regardless of race. This marred and otherwise pleasant hotel

Excellent stay.

The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor. They provide a full range of toiletries and skincare products. Breakfast was delicious too. Good value for money. There are also many dining options within walking distance, just across an underpass. We chose Maruaki, and their beef was truly delicious and reasonably priced.
