Definitely worth a stop! Much better than Gero, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, helping with our luggage and giving us a thorough introduction to the facilities. The private hot spring in the room was a real highlight; it was lovely to be able to relax whenever we wanted. Although the room felt a bit old-fashioned, it was quite clean. Both breakfast and dinner were very distinctive and enjoyable.

The hotel boasts multiple hot springs and delicious food, making it perfect for a family onsen trip. The owner provided excellent service, helping with our luggage and even driving us to the bus stop, waiting until we boarded – truly fantastic!

One of the best I have experienced with ryokan staying. I love a small hotel/inn as it is not crowded. This place answers my expectations. Its location is a bit far off but it is not an issue. It is accessible by public bus from Takayama. Each room has private onsen. It also has 2 outdoor, private onsen on first-come-first-serve basis. There are also public baths for male and female. Room was in good condition. Bathroom is a bit small for me. Only complaint I would have was foot step noise from the room on upper floor. Very annoyed. Food was great. I stayed 2 nights, the hotel provided 2 different types of food - appreciated. Highway recommended.

You can take the Nohi bus directly from Takayama Station, and the hotel is right across the street after you get off – super convenient! The bus ride was a bit long though. The private onsen (hot spring) had a great ambiance and the water temperature was perfect.

Our room was spacious and presented with a private onsen of which we can use any time at our convenience. Because of that, hardly anyone uses the shared private onsen, though the view there is better than that in our rooms. Also, there was no elevator at the hotel, so we had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs, thankfully the hotel only has 2 levels, and the hotel staff were nice enough to help us carry our luggages up into our rooms. Free parking is available, which is essential as the hotel is not situated nearby any public transport. But it is within 15 to 30 min drive to nearby attractions. The hotel was quite strict on the meal times as dinner and breakfast are served at 6pm and 8am sharp respectively. We arrived the hotel late on our first night (around 7pm) and almost missed our dinner (and almost got our room cancelled). We were served hida beef in different cooking style at dinner for both nights of our stay, one steamed and one grilled. Both tasted delicious! All the staff were very friendly and always wearing a grin on their faces. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

There are many onsen hotels in Oku Hida, and I booked this one on Trip.com for convenience. It wasn't peak season, so there weren't too many guests, which was nice. However, the kids next door were incredibly noisy, jumping around so much that the entire room was shaking. Turns out, not all Japanese people are considerate. The food, though, was absolutely fantastic.

The room was incredibly spacious, and to my delight, opening the window revealed a private *onsen* bath right inside. From the moment I stepped into Hida Beef Ryokan, I was enveloped by beautiful Japanese architecture and lush mountain forests, instantly feeling utterly relaxed and content. Dinner, however, was the true highlight. The Hida beef was exquisitely tender and absolutely delicious.

Excellent service, excellent food and with a private pool in the room. Highly commended.

Hygiene: Very clean and tidy, completely odorless. Facilities: There might not be convenience stores nearby, but the guesthouse has vending machines for drinks, some souvenirs available for purchase, and even ice cream. Service: English communication was very smooth. It takes about 2 hours to get to the guesthouse from Takayama Bus Terminal by Nohi Bus, and about 25 minutes from the guesthouse to Shinhotaka Ropeway. We had breakfast in the morning and then headed to Shinhotaka with plenty of time. My favorite part was the guesthouse's private onsen. The shared private onsen offers views of the snowy mountains, and you can enjoy the private onsen in your room anytime you want. Breakfast and dinner times are announced via phone, with breakfast at 8 AM and dinner at 6 PM. If you stay for 2 nights, the dinner menu will be adjusted. If I come back, I would definitely stay here again.

The experience is excellent. The in-room on-sen allows us to use it as and when we want. They have also a outdoor on-sen which is available as long as no one is occupying. The food is very good and very yummy!

This hotel is definitely worth recommending! They knew we were staying for two nights, so they varied the breakfast and dinner offerings, which was a nice touch. Just like the day before, each room comes with a private onsen. If you're looking for privacy, a romantic space with your partner, and the opportunity to take some intimate photos in the hot spring, this place is absolutely the perfect choice.
