Kantary Beach Hotel Villas & Suites Reviews

My wife and I arrive late at night and chose this hotel for a stay close to the airport. The room is very nice and spacious and the bed has a soft mattress. That was a big plus! The internet works well but the shower is hard to get in and out and you have to watch not to slip and fall.

Really a very delightful resort and nice location! Totally recommended!

Large hotel on a beautiful beach. There are some beach restaurants around the outside, which is very convenient for a lunch snack or dinner. Unfortunately there is nothing else around the hotel, the nearest supermarket is 3 km away. The prices in the hotel are correspondingly higher, although there is a small supermarket for water and snacks. We had booked a villa. Unfortunately, everything was very worn overall (e.g. stains on the walls, dust and sand under the sofa, stained carpet, limescale everywhere in the bathroom). The ones on the beach and by the pool should also be urgently replaced. We were at Kantary 7 years ago and much more emphasis was placed on friendliness and cleanliness. Now you had the feeling of mass processing... We won't be coming back again.

wonderful hotel! Room with living room and bedroom. There is a kitchenette. There is a children's playground outside, a restaurant on the seashore. Great holiday.

Was OK. Staff so-so. Breakfast also standard. The hotel impresses with its location. A bit worn everywhere. The suite was great.

Hotel almost empty with many villas on booking but surprisingly not upgrade available!! We arrived (4 pp) in this hotel with a package from Voyage Prive’; we found that that our upgrade option for the Villa was include for 3 nights or of 5. So we asked to pay to stay in the Villa for the entire period to avoid to change accommodation after 2 nights. They first offer the upgrade for about 40 euro per night (note that on booking the Villa is sold for just 80 euro) then they say no Villas were available. This is very strange as the hotel is really empty (we are in low season) and many many Villas are available on booking. This is a lack of service and not a way to manage clients (also they lost 160 euro!) and business.

Nice private beach, calming and very beautiful. Sunset vibes at beach is very impressive to me. Room is quite big and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially Khun Tee. He’s very nice and has a very good services during my stay. I am sure to visit again with my daughter.

We stayed at this hotel as the last part of a two week trip, we visited Phuket first and stayed at the Kantary bay again an amazing stay. We moved on to visit Krabi which was more commercial. while traveling to Khao Lak we visited a number of places on route with are amazing Guide Mr Chotithamakit (Char) and are driver Mr Chomankit (Jean). Both our Guide and driver were amazing and provided by the tour company Cel Tours Thailand co ltd a Very big thank you to you both for making the trip so special. We arrived at Kantary beach late after a very long day and would like to give a special thanks to Poppy on the front desk. She really was a great ambassador for the hotel and nothing was too much trouble. While we relaxed I was able to take advantage of the facility's booking three 60 minute massages with an amazing lady call Kai, thank you so much, just enjoying the sound of the ocean while feeling like you are floating on a cloud amazing. A big thank you to all the staff at the resort the Thai evening was really good the dancers were very genteel and beautiful and the food was incredible.

Let's start with the positives, fantastic beach, white sands, shallow warm water, palm trees, (as you would expect with a view like that all sun beds are snapped quickly). We found the staff in general to friendly and approachable. Yes the rooms are little bit dated but we found them to clean and comfortable. I was surprised that there was no lift and happy to tip to the staff member who had to lug our bags up the stairs. The final positive was the amount of birdsong we heard, more than the jungle trek I went on. Now the negatives 😐 the major one was the food! It was awful, we paid for half board but decided half way through our stop that the only meal we would eat in the hotel was breakfast. As you got offerd the same uninviting menu all day. Also everything in the hotel is so expensive! We didn't realise until one evening we went into town and eat at the "Green pepper" where we had a starter each, two mains, ( all very tasty) two drinks and water for less than we had paid two uneddable sandwiches and drinks at our hotel. As for the mini mart the little selection of over priced junk food. It had a picture of crossiant on which we enquired and was told ( by a puzzled shop assistant) that it was not available. My tip is to buy your snacks for the next day in town when you go there to eat in the evening, and that is another moan. It is too far and dangerous to walk into town so you have to use the hotels shuttle bus, which goes infrequently during the day. Most hotels I have used this it's free and you just turn up, but here you have book a slot and there is a fee. If you want to travel outside these times there is a higher fee. I always try to finish on a positive and that is you can access your Netfix account from your room and of coutse beach is spectacular.

This hotel is rated as a 5 star hotel - it is definetely NOT a 5 star hotel! Upon arrival, we were checked into our villa - had requested a beachfront villa and we were told, that costs extra and the hotel was fully booked, so this was not possible. No welcome drink - at all our other stays throughot Thailand we had received a welcome drink. This is not extremely important to me, mind you, but it would have been a nice touch. Other than that, we were not given any more information. A cart driver then brought us and our luggage to the villa and explained a little on the way there re breakfast, minimart, beach, towels etc. The villa was quite roomy but had already seen better times: quite worn out, unappealing furnishings and unfortunately also quite dirty - cupboards and sideboard were dirty and had fingerprints all over it! The bathroom looked very dated - it had a large bathtub (!), the wasbasin was installed extremely low, and you could tell that the shower had been added on later throughout the last years. Although the hotel grounds are quite large and it was fully booked, the beach was not extremely overcrowded as I had expected it to be. The beach is actually the very best part of this hotel! It is clean, white and you can enjoy endless beach walks from one side or the other! The hotel does not provide any umbrellas or service on the beach but usually you can find a place in the shade somewhere. Unfortunately, when we were there, a lot of huge jellyfish were in the water as well as stranded on the beach. Also unfortunately, hotel guests occupy sunbeds with their towels from early in the morning... The hotel has two pools, which are mostly occupied by families. We did not use either one of them. Showers and toilets are near the pool and were not looked after. The breakfast was buffet style with a nice enough variety of fruit, bread, charcuterie, eggs but surely not 5 star quality! The coffee was so awful, we could not even think about drinking it - so we asked if they also had cappuccino/espresso. They did, but you have to pay extra - the cost was 330 Bhat for 2 cappuccino's which is equal to 8,50 Euros! So yes, bloody expensive ie. european prices! For the next couple of days we just had the tea, which was ok, and had a coffee at the small beach restaurant next door. We did not try the restaurant for lunch or dinner but went to the little (inexpensive) beach restaurants which were lovely! The hotel offers massage facilities at a reasonable price in little huts near the beach. This is also a clear plus! You book the massage in the restaurant where you have breakfast, but you also need to go there again shortly before your massage to get a voucher - noone had explained this to us. Also beware, that the massage is very popular and you may have to book a day in advance. The hotel is quite isolated and thus offers a shuttle to the Bang Niang market, at a fee of 200 Bhat (both ways), also here you have to get a voucher which nobody to
