Braavo Spa Hotel

Tallinn Old Town Tallinn|0.32km from Soolaladu
I had a meeting in Tallinn and tried a hotel where I had not stayed. I wanted a hotel with a sauna. Braavo Spa hotel sounded nice and it was close to where I had the meeting. After a quick check in I went through a myriad of corridors before I found the room. The name Spa hotel is misguiding, it should be named Sports club with some rooms. I got a feeling that I was at a football training camp, where the green and orange walls would fit perfectly. However, the room was clean except around the room ventilation. Everything in the room was working, enough sockets and a basic bed. Everything was basic! There were no soap in the bathroom except beside the shower. The temperature in the room was fine and the WiFi worked. After a mediocre breakfast I went to find the sauna. There were a lot of them, but everyone was closed during the day, except for the salt sauna and the ”saunatorium” I started with the salt sauna to clean up and then to the 45 degrees ”saunatorium” after 20 min a bunch of older ladies came in with a soviet style yoga instructor who was very rude. I sat in the corner and they had 95% of the sauna for themselves, still the Soviet woman basically threw me out with no motivation. The only reason I stayed at that hotel was to get a sauna, now I did not even got that. Very unsatisfying. The only things on the plus side was that they had a luggage room and that the staff was helpful. The gym facilities were very good.

Our stay was really nice. The staff was great, room was clean and location is perfect. Would like to return and probably will do that. Liked everything that hotel had to offer around that price point. Everything is right around the corner from this place - shops, bars and restaurants.

For cleanliness, safety and location (the big 3 for me), I would rate this five stars. It really was super clean, it felt super safe, and it was only a few minutes walk from Terminal A for Eckero boats. These are big factors! The room was also very well equipped with a hairdryer, plenty of towels, two nice big pillows, and soaps etc. Nice also to have a writing desk, and a blind that blocks out sun! These are all huge positives, so great job! If the following was solved, it would be a five star place! I had difficulties with check-in. I did self check-in, and I was given a room with number. There were no signs to show which way to go. However, I did find my way eventually. When I got there, I couldn't open the door, as it turns out my key card had to be authorised by reception first. So I had to go all the way back down, and through to the main hotel reception (as the express one was closed). But I had two big suitcases, so this was problematic! If there was a note saying ”those with a coronavirus pass to show, come to reception, it would be much easier. Finally, I was woken up by noisy doors - mainly from the housekeeper/s. This wasn't so much their fault, but the fault of the doors. However, I did sleep well all night until that time! If the doors could be ”soft close”, it would be much better :) Otherwise, really, it's a great place - and I would have rated it 4.5/5 or 9/10 (based on my overall experience) if TripAdvisor allowed it!

Tallinn Old Town
The hotel has a great location in the old town so it’s very convenient and the design around the hotel is gorgeous and the rooms have antique furnishings. Maria is extremely helpful and polite when I checked in late after 5pm. Do note that there’s no kettle in the room but a shared kitchen at level 2, sadly when I wanted to use it, the kettle might have been taken by other guests. Will be great if each room can have a kettle or if there is a main water dispenser. The toilet seat is not securely fastened so be careful. The water in the bathroom can easy splash out as it’s a curtain shower for the standing shower. Room slippers, fragrant shower, shampoo, hair conditioner and shower caps are provided.

Tallinn Old Town
It was my second stay here. Nice and absolutely quiet rooms, fine breakfast. No issues with wifi. Friendly staff. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms if you're staying on the 5th floor or higher. It may be difficult to climb up. And we didn't like the food and the service at the restaurant next door.

Really relaxing experience. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a fridge, tube and ”a living room”. No loud noises and really peaceful to sleep. Hotel's location is excellent and small spa is a nice extra. We have stayed here many times before but not in this kind of new and fancy room. Breakfast was really good but some really young servants were maybe a little too eager to pick up the dishes and it was too funny to follow the customers holding up their plates while eating to not to loose them. Must be some compatition or bonuses coming :)

This hotel opened last autumn after a complete renovation. Now it is a stylish city hotel, centrally located next to Viru Center. There came an affordable package offer where two nights in the best Sauna Suite and the ferry tickets were together 384 euros. If bought separately, the ferry tickets would have been 4 x 25 euros and the Sauna Suite 2 x 246 euros (Club One offer) or 2 x 294 euros (normal flexible rate including breakfast). Now we paid only 142 euros per night for the suite. We have stayed in October 2016 in the same suite. Only the bathroom furniture including the bathtub was the same. Everything else had been replaced. The decor was stylish. The living room felt much bigger now. There were two small things but they felt quite irritating. I had to connect to the room wifi at least ten times with my Windows laptop. My partner with an iPad had to do that only once. Also, the Finnish TV channel YLE1 lost its signal every 10 minutes for a couple of minutes and then came back. The breakfast was good. The food selection was quite wide. The juices were far too sugary. The staff was very friendly, especially in the reception and in the lobby bar. One thing that was quite special and probably not to everyone's taste was the staircase that acted as a gym.
