GGuest UserCan you believe it? After traveling to nearly thirty countries and experiencing countless cities and hotels, this Shangyin Hotel is surprisingly the best in my memory. The facilities are excellent, on par with five-star hotels, and the service is simply perfect, even better than some ultra-luxury establishments. From the moment we arrived, staff guided us in, directed parking, and helped carry our luggage from the car to the room. The front desk had prepared food and fruit. Upon entering the room, they explained how to use every switch, warned that the heating might be too warm and suggested opening the window, and advised on how to prevent altitude sickness. The room even had oxygen and a humidifier. I remember many hotels having smart speakers (like 'Xiaodu'), but for some reason, the one here felt smarter and incredibly thoughtful. Opening the curtains revealed a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains. The room itself was cozy, clean, and tidy. For a hotel in a high-altitude area, the shower pressure was surprisingly strong, and the toiletries provided were so good that I ended up abandoning my own shampoo. The toilet was automatic and had no unpleasant odors; as someone who's a bit of a clean freak, I was reassured to see even the corners were spotless. The room also came with complimentary snacks, and before bed, a server brought warm yak milk. Our first dinner at the hotel was unexpectedly delicious and great value for money. The server even kindly advised me not to order too much, saying a small hotpot would be enough, and suggested I put away my luggage and rest while they prepared it, so I could just come down to eat in half an hour. We stayed for three days, and every time we left or returned, we were greeted by a group of smiling staff who asked how our day was and if we needed any help. Today, upon checkout, they even gave us local souvenirs as a memento. As we left, they helped us load our luggage into the car, guided us as we backed out, and waved goodbye. The hotel isn't huge, but all the little details made us feel incredibly comfortable. The wall outlets were conveniently placed, and there were plenty of hooks and hangers for clothes. Even casting content to the TV was super easy. I regret forgetting to take photos with the hotel staff, but I'll always remember their excellent service. Thank you!

The diffused oxygen supply is even and stable, making you feel as comfortable in the room as you would at sea level, so you don't have to worry about altitude sickness affecting your trip. The room was very clean and well-equipped, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a huge variety of options, catering to different dietary habits. I really enjoyed breakfast every morning. The room was clean and tidy, and the environment was quiet. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and was very enthusiastic, even upgrading my room for free. Once you stay here, you won't want to go anywhere else!

FFlorabushifuluolaThis place is about a 15-minute drive from Taxian county, located off a rural road, quite a distance from the town center. The views are incredible, with direct sight of the snow-capped mountains – the scenery is absolutely stunning, and the tent atmosphere is just perfect.
We arrived late on the day, so we didn't really experience much in the way of attentive service; it was just a quick check-in and some directions. Since it's a tent camp, you can't drive directly to your tent. Luggage needs to be transported by the scenic area's shuttle bus, which can be a bit of a hassle and tiring if you have a lot of stuff.
The breakfast was pretty average, not particularly lavish, but considering its remote, outdoor location, this standard is understandable. It works perfectly fine if you're looking for a guesthouse-like stay. Also, it was incredibly windy that night. If you're sensitive to wind noise or other sounds, I'd recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand, otherwise, it might affect your sleep.
Overall, the experience was decent. Its main draw is the scenery and the unique tent experience. If you're looking for peace and quiet while enjoying snow mountain views, this is the place to be.

GGuest UserThere are about ten rooms in the entire courtyard. On the left side of the picture are the rooms of a regular house, and across from them are the cabin-style rooms. The rooms have clean bedding, two beds, one large and one small, and are comfortable, perfect for traveling with children. There's a rocking chair by the door, and a swing in the adjacent courtyard for the kids to play on. Parking is possible outside the courtyard entrance, and there's not much traffic in the village. The owner is very welcoming and accommodating. Upon entering the courtyard, he immediately asked if anyone had altitude sickness, and if so, he offered to go with me for oxygen. There were no bath towels in the room, as I was worried about altitude sickness from showering. 😂 Since my lips were dry and chapped, the owner even gave me a small box of lip balm. The only minor inconvenience is that the owner doesn't cook at home. If you're staying overnight, you can have a good meal in the city before coming back. The owner said there's a restaurant in the village, but I didn't want to go out, so I ordered takeout. The food in Tashkurgan County is probably higher quality than in Kashgar. I noticed this when I visited Tashkurgan County four years ago. After all, the plateau doesn't produce vegetables.

GGuest UserSince it is a Mercure chain, the facilities and cleanliness were good, but the next morning, when I asked to call a taxi to go to the bus terminal, they pointed to a road with many taxis and told me to catch one myself, which was a bit awkward for a foreigner. Furthermore, it was different from Beijing time, so even though it was past 8 in the morning, I couldn't see the taxi, which made me feel a little anxious for a while... They lacked a proactive service mindset.

GGuest UserGood reviews! The location of the hotel is amazing. You can see the magnificent Pamir Plateau scenery of Tashkurgan County as soon as you go out. In the morning, when you open the window, the sun shines on the top of the continuous snow-capped mountains. The picture is so beautiful that it is suffocating. Here, you can enjoy the unique natural scenery of Tashkurgan County while lying in bed. This experience is great!

GGuest UserIt is the perfect place to stay in Tashkorgan. Close to town center, the bus station, and the tourist attractions in town. Very nice owners who will try to help you as much as they can. You can use the washing machine, there are hot showers and warm and cold water to drink or take away. There is a communal area at reception and in front of the dorms. There are even yurts in the yard. The family let me stay two more days while waiting for my Pakistan visa while they were actually closed for the season. So, a big thank you for your generosity🙏🏻
