Hilton Lake Taupo

A hotel I absolutely adore, perfect for a vacation. The three-bedroom apartment features 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and 2 bathrooms, with one en-suite bedroom. The living room has large balconies on both sides; one faces Lake Taupo directly, while the other overlooks the hotel's thermal pool. Restaurant: The buffet breakfast includes a buffet spread and a la carte main courses. The buffet selection itself is already very rich.

The hotel's food was good and affordable, and there was even service available at night. The scenery was quite nice, with distant lakes and snow-capped mountains visible from the room. Breakfast was just average, but the fact that Hilton provides two bottles of water is better than many hotels in New Zealand.

A huge thank you to Ms. Mimy at the front desk! We encountered her during both check-in and check-out, and her service was warm and kind. We had booked a lake-view room, expecting a beautiful and wonderful holiday, but it turned out to be a ground-floor room, not a true lake-view at all. She upgraded us to a genuine lake-view room at no extra charge, and even helped us pick the best unit and floor. She also provided an extra bed (which we had originally booked). If it weren't for our pre-booked flights, we would have loved to extend our stay. When we checked out, she learned we were still in New Zealand and kindly gave us two bottles of honey, which was very thoughtful. We'll definitely stay here again next time, and we'd love to stay in the same room. The hotel parking is excellent, with an outdoor lot within the premises. Breakfast was plentiful. There's a small garden inside the hotel that's a must-see, and you can also find geothermal features. To the left of the hotel entrance, there's a McDonald's and a gas station.

This hotel is located near Lake Taupo, offering distant views of the lake. It's also conveniently close to the famous 'plane' McDonald's in town. It's a resort-style hotel with both paid and free parking areas. The single beds, at 0.9 meters wide, are a bit small, but the room itself is quite spacious. I was particularly pleased with the bathroom, which had two sinks, a bathtub, and a shower. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The maple leaves outside the hotel were beautiful, and I even saw a rainbow 🌈.

The room was spacious and had a balcony with a view of Lake Taupo. It was very clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job. There's a large parking lot below the hotel, making parking convenient. The path from the parking lot to the hotel is also well-lit. However, some rooms were undergoing renovations, and it was quite noisy in the mornings. This could be disruptive if you're looking for a relaxing vacation. Taupo is located in an earthquake zone, and we experienced a small tremor during our stay. It wasn't major, but it was a bit startling. It's good to be aware of this if you're planning a trip to Taupo; apparently, small earthquakes happen several times a year and are quite normal.
