Phoenix Thermal Resort - Taupo

The hotel is conveniently located right by the road and is owned by Chinese proprietors. The rooms are spacious and feature a private hot spring tub. The hot spring water gets quite hot, so you'll need to run it a bit in advance. The room itself is very clean. There's also a BBQ area in the courtyard and a small garden.

Taupo is so beautiful, and the hotel environment is also gorgeous. It has a kitchen where you can cook, making it perfect for a family trip. The private hot spring bath was so relaxing. I'll definitely stay here again next time I come back.

A truly fantastic hotel with incredibly friendly owners. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome, and they did everything to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The booking was somehow incorrect, only for two people, but we were immediately given a room with an extra bed for €10 per night. The room even has a covered pool at the end, filled with hot volcanic water – absolutely brilliant! We used it first thing in the evening with a cold drink and again in the morning with a coffee! The lake is just a short walk across the road. We would definitely book this again if we were ever staying in Taupo.
