What a lovely Hotel. The best location in St Ives, By the ancient Bridge overlooking the Great Ouse. The room was perfect. We had a twin room. It was a large room with twin beds, a table and two carver chairs, a large wardrobe and shower room. There was a kettle with ample tea bogs, coffee sachets and milk and sugar. The reception staff were very helpful. We met the owner who gave us a tour of the hotel .... the deluxe rooms overlooking the Water are beautiful. We shall be returning. Highly recommended.

Upon arriving we managed to find parking quite easily. We were early so we made our way to Cambridge. The staff member at reception was very knowledgeable and guided us to the local bus which was around 5 minute walk away…the bus B we took was very reasonably priced at £2pp each way. When we returned check in process was ok and our room was lovely and spacious, although a little dated with the furniture old pine. It’s like some parts have been updated and some haven’t. Like there’s some plugs with USB ports some without. The room was clean and had tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is modern but had a few maintenance issues in my opinion sink needed some bleach down it as had marks on the drain. The shower pressure unfortunately isn’t great and the drain was blocked. The bed was so uncomfortable and pillows were flat which is a shame as we didn’t sleep well. The room we stayed in is also on the main road and at times you can hear people talking outside. Morning Breakfast in the meadow suite…we ended up opening a couple of doors as there’s no sign. I think the door could be left open or a sign put on the door to avoid confusion. When we arrived there was no one for breakfast in the room There are 3 tables set up with cereal juice coffee etc. It’s all very basic coffee is in an urn and was luke warm. We filled in forms for a cooked breakfast and they still got it a little wrong Quality of the breakfast was dreadful and we ended up leaving majority of it. Very disappointed! What a shame as getting better quality ingredients for breakfast and the buffet and just a few improvements in the rooms would make this an amazing hotel. I realise there is an upgrade happening hopefully it’s to everything in the rooms and not just parts. Locality of the hotel is amazing right on the river and just a short walk to shops and bars restaurants. It’s just a shame that the bed wasn’t comfortable and breakfast was awful so for this reason I wouldn’t come back to this hotel but I would stay in st Ives again.

Just home from a lovely weekend at St Ives, we stayed at the The Dolphin Hotel and wow what a lovely location. We sat in the garden and the views are amazing, our room was fresh, clean and modern. Literally a 2 minute walk across the bridge in to the town, your spoilt for choice as there are so many places to eat and drink, highly recommend the boat trip Frances’s was amazing and very knowledgeable 😊

Stayed on a Wowcher voucher! Excellent value for money. Lovely and exceptionally helpful staff; ground floor room overlooking the river, with balcony. Very quiet, newly refurbished and very comfortable. Unfortunately kitchen not open for dinner so they upgraded our room instead. (Refund from Wowcher). Will definitely be back!!

I was aware that the hotel was under refurbishment before booking but had read some previous good reviews & decided to book via a wowcher offer. Upon arrival we weren't on the system , quick fix & went to out room.Room was clean but the furniture was a little dated , pine wardrobe & desk , didn't really go with room. TV wasnt working , i eventually managed to retune it & also kettle wasnt working so had to have this replaced . Sleeping was hit & miss , our room faced onto the street & there was lots of noise from cars screeching out of car park & general shouting & arguing outside (not hotels fault I know) Breakfast was a disaster, no reel system in place, waited ages for food & when it finally arrived I personally couldn't eat it , very poor quality ingredients used. Shame as the hotel is in a great location & could be fantastic if it raised its standards

We had a lovely stay. We were on a Wowcher deal which was really good value. Newly refurbished room, walk in shower was great. Cooked Breakfast was pre ordered the night before with a requested time, so It was ready when we arrived for breakfast, we thought this was a really good idea rather than the usual buffet. Some items were help yourself. Once the refurbishment is complete this hotel will be fantastic 👍🏻 And hopefully the hotel bar will be open more. Great location Will definitely visit again

Called hotel, Charlie was brilliant & gave us a fantastic deal very happy. Room newly refurbished . Despite being on her own the chef cooked and served beautiful full English for everyone. Hotel under refurbishment but didn't affect our stay. We will be returning soon. Roy and Julie .

Lovely warm welcome and was given a choice of bottle of Prosecco as we had bought a wowcher deal on line so we paid £79 pound for two people with breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco for one night . The room was very clean and spacious with the bathroom set up for disabled access with a nice walk in shower. We are not disabled but it was nice to see. Tea and lovely biscuits in room, big smart TV, bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Great pretty little town right next to every thing in walking distance. We had a lovely meal at the golden lion pub in the town and the fry up at the riverside terrace was amazing as breakfast in the hotel was too early for us. Good for the price you pay for two people and would definitely go back again. My only suggestions would be more sugar packets in the room, a hairdryer in each of the rooms instead of asking for one at reception, and some fluffy bath robes would be nice to hire.
