The Westin Tianjin

The curtains in the room couldn't completely block out the light, and the morning sun streaming in affected my sleep. The TV in the room couldn't cast Migu Video to watch football matches. On one hand, the LeBao app built into the TV required a paid membership to support video playback. At the same time, the TV couldn't properly cast content from video websites with anti-casting apps. TV casting is a basic customer use case, and the hotel needs to upgrade its IT system to support this. Breakfast was just average. The kitchen facilities were still undergoing renovation, lacking basic conditions for food preparation.

It's definitely an older hotel, with quite outdated facilities and poor ventilation. This might be due to the facade renovation, as you have to walk a short distance from the entrance to the reception. However, the room itself was clean and tidy.

The young lady at the front desk, Miss Tianjin, the bellboys, and the young ladies at the cake shop all provided excellent service! The housekeeper on the 10th floor kept the room very clean and provided timely service! The gym and swimming pool are also great!

The hotel boasts an excellent location, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are clean and tidy, with well-maintained facilities and comfortable bedding. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the overall environment is quiet and comfortable. It was a great stay for our family. Although the breakfast selection was a bit limited due to ongoing renovations, it didn't detract from the overall experience. We were still very satisfied and would choose this hotel again on our next trip to Tianjin. Highly recommend!

Facilities: Can't really comment on the facilities as the hotel is undergoing renovations. The temporary check-in area was even worse than a small guesthouse in a county town. I stayed in an unrenovated room, and it definitely had old carpets, making the whole room feel dated. Service: Trip.com mentioned the hotel was renovating, but it was in a very inconspicuous spot, which I completely missed. As soon as I entered the lobby and saw the renovations, I knew it wasn't good, but the hotel wouldn't allow cancellations, so I had to grin and bear it. The hotel stated renovations were from Monday to Friday. However, on Sunday, it was raining heavily, and when I went back to my room in the afternoon, there were constant hammering and drilling noises, definitely not minor. I couldn't really stay in the room. I called the front desk, and they actually replied that renovations were scheduled for the weekend. I argued my point, and they said they would check with the engineering department. After that, no further communication or feedback. I had no choice but to report it to Trip.com. Perhaps because I'm a Black Diamond member, they kept assisting with coordination, and after several rounds, the issue was finally resolved. Environment: I just want to know which five-star hotel allows delivery carts in the guest elevators? I'm blacklisting this hotel. Besides the facilities, I feel the management is quite poor.

My overall stay exceeded expectations. The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was very clean and well-equipped, the air conditioning was at a comfortable temperature, and I slept very well. The staff were friendly and responsive to requests. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all the toiletries were provided. The environment was quiet, and I wasn't disturbed at night, so I highly recommend it.

Choose wisely, this place is really old. The pool was super dirty and crowded, honestly a bit gross. My room wasn't properly cleaned in many spots – there were urine stains on the toilet and grime on the lamps. I only picked this hotel because it's a Marriott and I was in Tianjin, but the quality is really questionable. The staff, however, were quite nice.
