Tianjin Ocean Hotel Reviews

This is an old-fashioned state-run guesthouse. The facilities are outdated, but still functional. All the spots that are supposed to leak only do so intermittently, but if they leaked freely, a strong foul odor would rise up. This is a contradictory problem, and it hasn't been resolved well. The breakfast buffet is decent and reflects Tianjin's local characteristics. The building, originally situated by the river, is now being obscured by a nearly completed new building next door, significantly impacting the view.

I have to say, the location of the Ocean Hotel is really great. It's right by the Hai River, perfect for an evening stroll and enjoying the night views. It's also super close to the Italian Style Street, just across the road, making it very convenient for dining out with music. There's some construction going on next door which slightly obstructs the hotel's exterior, but there's no noise at night, so it doesn't affect sleep. Plus, the price is really affordable.

The service here is absolutely superb! It's incredibly close to all the attractions; the Haihe River is right downstairs, the Italian Style Area is just to the north, and Jinwan Plaza is right across the bridge. The souvenirs they gave us made my kids so happy! They even noticed we had two children and upgraded our room for free, which was perfect for our family. On checkout day, they gave the kids plush toy souvenirs and small fried dough twists as snacks. Seriously, they couldn't be more thoughtful! Highly recommend.

A very well located older style hotel with a nautical theme. Fantastic views of the Grand canal and evening light shows and just a 15 minute walk to several key tourist areas and Tianjin railway station.

It's a beautiful hotel in the heart of the city. Nice room, comfortable bed, great view from the room window. All the sights are nearby. Really recommend the hotel!

This hotel is located near Jiefang Bridge, right opposite the Italian Style Street, and next to the Haihe River. It's super convenient for dining and shopping. The hotel hygiene is excellent, and the breakfast is plentiful with great service.

Golden location! It's right by the Haihe River, just over a kilometer from Tianjin Station, and the Italian Style Area is directly across the street. The Haihe River cruise pier is only a ten-minute walk away. Most of the staff are locals from Tianjin, and they are all incredibly warm and friendly. If they ever renovated, it would probably be out of my price range! For now, maybe a slight upgrade to the toiletries and breakfast would make a huge difference.

I didn't take any pictures because the rooms were different. I booked a total of three rooms across two reservations, so this review will be similar to the other one. However, this was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at in Tianjin during the May Day holiday. First, when I called the front desk in advance to discuss my room preferences, the staff member was incredibly warm and polite. They didn't show any impatience because I was from out of town and had specific requests. Instead, they thoughtfully asked about the number of people traveling, their ages, and our room needs, and offered suggestions. This was the primary reason I decided to stay here. Second, the hotel's location is convenient. It's very close to Dagu Bridge, Jiefang Bridge, and the Century Clock, making getting around easy. The Haihe River is right downstairs, which is very pleasant. Third, the hotel rooms are clean and tidy, with no strange odors. The furniture is standard but doesn't look old, and there's no drain smell in the bathroom. I stayed on the 15th floor, near the end of the corridor. From my personal perspective and that of my family, there are no downsides; it was excellent.

The room was spotless! What's more, there were plenty of mirrors, and the bathroom was spacious enough for three of us to do our makeup together – so comfortable! The hotel service was also outstanding; any requests or issues were promptly addressed with a quick phone call. The luggage storage service at the front desk was also very reassuring. Excellent!

Great location but the heater couldn't bring the temperature any higher than 21C so it was pretty cold the whole stay

There's a car park right opposite the hotel, and parking is free for guests. However, it's a bit tricky to get into, so it's best to call ahead and ask for directions if you plan to park, otherwise you might end up driving around in circles. The room itself was generally clean and comfortable, pretty standard overall. The location is great too; the Haihe River is right downstairs, perfect for enjoying the night views or taking a stroll over to Jiefang Bridge. It's also not far from the Ancient Culture Street, easily within walking distance.

Stayed here with my two little ones. The room was spacious, the location was great, and most importantly, we all slept really well. The only minor issue was that we had to ask for the sheets to be changed. Once they were, it was much more comfortable, and we even extended our stay. I really liked it. It's perfect for family trips and ensures a good night's sleep.

Good location, but not the best hotel room experience. The room is small, bathroom shower a complete mess, and bed not comfortable. I would not recommend. Be aware that laundry is closed Sundays.

The hotel was in a good location. The staff was friendly.
