Tianjin Shangshe Apartment

No elevator, had to drag my luggage up four flights of dirty stairs. The facilities were basic, it was a terrible experience. It looked nothing like the pictures.

The room was on the fourth floor, which meant a climb in the summer heat, and taxis couldn't even drop us off directly at the hotel. We had to walk about 6 minutes to the taxi stand. The air conditioner remote was so dirty, even in summer, when it's essential! It was all sticky and grimy. Plus, the soundproofing was terrible; you could hear every step in the hallway loud and clear. Before I lay down on the bed, my legs were fine. I remember checking them in the mirror while taking photos, so I know for sure. But afterward, I developed red rashes with a purplish tint on my legs.

The room was clean and tidy, and there was free tea and snacks in the lobby. The front desk staff were also very friendly. It's really close to the train station, just a 5-minute walk from the exit. There's also a bus stop nearby, which makes getting to tourist attractions very convenient.

The hotel environment is very clean, and the front desk staff were excellent, even recommending some great local restaurants. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Super convenient! It's just a short walk from the south square of Tianjin Station. The front desk staff were also really nice and even helped us with our luggage. The overall environment is great. The room was much better and more comfortable than the one I stayed in Beijing, and the view outside the window was fantastic – a real scenic spot. The hygiene was also top-notch! 👍👍 I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Sitting in a rattan chair in the evening, browsing through the guest photo display that told different stories, and reading the heartwarming messages on the comment wall, I instantly felt that authentic 'life in another place' vibe. The common areas also boast a well-equipped gym and a clean, spacious communal kitchen, allowing you to maintain your workout routine and even cook occasionally, even if you're only staying for a couple of days. The room's industrial design is both stylish and great for photos. Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk to Tianjin Station, so the transportation is impeccable. With such amenities at an affordable price, the value for money in this location is practically unrivaled.

I used to be stuck on my phone every night when I stayed at hotels, but this time at Shangshe, the experience was elevated! The public area's audio-visual room has a huge screen and fantastic sound. Plus, the butler organized movie nights, and the dark, industrial-themed environment was incredibly immersive. I even swapped a Tianjin Eye fridge magnet for a vintage license plate at the magnet exchange – those little touches really appeal to collectors like me! The room itself maintained the signature rugged industrial style, but the soft bedding was a delightful contrast. It’s just a few minutes' walk from Tianjin Station, so transport is no problem at all. For less than 100 per person, to get this kind of atmosphere, it's definitely great value for money.
