This is my first negative review after so many trips, and the Hyatt Regency Tianjin East was, without a doubt, the worst stay I've ever had, even worse than budget hotels like Atour or Orange Hotel. Here are three points detailing my bad experience, in chronological order:
1. I booked a Club King Room, specifically requesting floors 20-25 for a quieter experience. However, at check-in at 3 PM, the front desk assigned me a room on the 14th floor without informing me. When I realized and went back to inquire, they just said the room type was the same. I told them I couldn't accept that and asked for a room above the 20th floor. To my surprise, they then claimed the room was still being cleaned and wouldn't be ready until 4 PM. I immediately expressed my dissatisfaction. A staff member (possibly a manager?) then came out and promptly arranged a room for me on the 24th floor. So, were you trying to deceive me, or was the room not actually being cleaned?
2. The weather in Tianjin in April was already around 20 degrees Celsius, but the room felt like a giant sauna – incredibly stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it only blew circulating air, no cold air. The housekeeping department's response was that the cooling system hadn't been activated yet, and my only option was to open the window (which didn't help much) and endure the significant noise. This made it impossible to sleep soundly all night.
3. The Club Lounge dinner was severely understocked. I entered the Club Lounge (operating hours: 6-8 PM) at 7 PM, only to find all the food stations completely empty (as shown in the picture). The server said the kitchen was stir-frying fresh dishes. By 7:15 PM, the first refill (stir-fried baby cabbage) finally arrived, and it was cold! What happened to the fresh stir-frying from the kitchen? At 7:20 PM, the second refill (prawn and tofu) was also cold!
This was my first time staying at a Hyatt hotel, and I did not receive the service expected from a five-star establishment. Even basic rest couldn't be guaranteed. I am extremely disappointed! This really tarnishes the Hyatt brand image!
