You are right in the reserve, but with even more comforts than at home. The staff and guides are absolutely amazing. The personal touches will astound you as will the ability of the guides to see animals, but not just see - identify, across at great distance. But don't worry they will close that distance and you will get to see wildlife up close like nothing you would believe - at least I didn't before my vist.

We just returned from 11 days in Kenya, three spent here. We had the family tent and it was perfect for two couples. Units are separated with a common outside sitting area in between. Game drives were great as the area has a very large zebra population as well as black and white rhinos. You will be amazed by the size of the horns these critters carry. Our guide was Abdul and although soft spoken, he was fun, knowledgeable and always positioned our vehicle for the best photo opportunities. The grounds are beautiful and the entire staff is helpful, friendly and extremely caring. Don’t miss a meal as the food is terrific and drinks are included! They have a photo hideout but be prepared for a long walk. It was a hot morning when I did it but it does have a water hole view. This was our 7th trip to Africa, our first to Kenya and it was wonderful. Lewa made our trip very special! We highly recommend a visit.

A beautiful property with beautiful people and delicious food. We loved staying here and having a Lewa guide. We were so impressed with the chef and his creations. I loved that it was a secured property that we could move freely. Cannot say enough kind words.

We had a wonderful and memorable experience thanks to the fantastic team at Elewana Laikipiya. The conservancy embodies the true spirit of caring and appreciating nature. Safaris are only as good as the guides - and thanks to our knowledgeable and passionate guide Peter along with the energetic Josh, who was learning the trade from Peter. The entire staff was extremey caring for ous requirements with special call-out for Redempta and of course the managemnt team of Timothy and Keith. The exclusivity of the location, different terrain and the dinner under the stars were unforgettable - many special moment of safari which I vividly remember - seeing Kitui being charged by another rhino, the elephants protecting their calf from the rhinos, and following a lioness as she hunted! Right from when we landed... to seeing us off waving with smiling faces, Lewa will not fail to impress you.

Beautiful secluded location - set amongst hills with views of wandering game and mount Kenya as a backdrop on game drives. Gorgeous animal sounds and gardens with lovely low key buildings. The nature walk around camp was great for exercising/quiet stroll. Tents felt secluded and had lovely views - we saw giraffe, rhino, elephant, buffalo and various buck from our verandah and the lookout. We loved the nightly water bottles and morning wake up coffee and cookies. Super comfortable beds too. The staff, especially Agnes, were so friendly and thoughtful. Food was delicious and healthy and we loved the al fresco fire side dinner and breakfast picnic too. We had our kids with us - they were the only children at the camp but made to feel so welcome - they especially loved the bows and arrows and spears to play with! We had our own driver and saw an incredible amount of game, including a rhino relocation. A very special place - we will be back. Asante Sana

We were thrilled with our experience at Lewa Safari Camp. Everything was absolutely perfect. The scenery was gorgeous and there were animals everywhere. A giraffe family with baby and some zebras wandered past our tent the very first day :) Food was fabulous - shout out to chef for those delectable sauces! We had a family tent - so spacious, beautiful and comfortable! A thousand thanks to Ruth for taking such good care and to our terrific guide Abdul for the stories, wildlife sightings and fun company - you both gave us the experience of a lifetime! We loved the open jeep! Also recommend treating yourself to a massage while there - that was such a worthwhile treat. Overall, we could not be more grateful to everyone at this stunning camp.

This trip had been planned and booked since 2019, interrupted by both two years of COVID and a move from the U.S. to Australia in 2022. When we were finally on our way, I wondered if all the years of planning and waiting were going to be worth it. In fact, it was even better. I could not have dreamed of the perfection of the stay in this eco-conscious conservation camp. From the staff to the amenities, to food to our accommodations, it was all perfect. We were treated like valued guests at every moment, and because we were there during a less populated shoulder season we ended up with a private driver for every game drive. Our tent was secluded down a path with very comfortable King bed, ensuite shower with plenty of hot water and toilet. Solar panels provided electricity and USB port charging stations. Hot water bottles in the bed were such a comfy touch. I never felt any danger from roaming animals, but at night or at dusk when we went up for drinks and dinner, we were accompanied by a guard. They took security very seriously. Unfortunately, my husband was suffering from reaction to anti-malaria pills that culminated in a mad dash to a local clinic, but an Elewana employee (manager?) drove us himself and he was well taken care of. It was a scary experience at the time, but the clinic was wonderful. And the care and attention we received at the camp, prior to and following the episode only deepened our bond with the manager and staff. They were incredibly kind and genuinely concerned. I couldn't fault any aspect of this dream stay, despite the health scare, and was sorry to leave.

I echo most of the great reviews written about Lewa Safari Camp from the Elewana range of camps, so no need to repeat them here again. However, some tips for future travellers based on our wonderful experience. Visiting in early November meant there was some rain (at times a little heavy, but not for very long). This meant each day the land became greener, the animals happier, and new life was emerging everywhere. A wonderful time to visit - so don't let the rains put you off. It makes fo cooler temps too if you're not a fan of heat. The safari trucks were completely open and very comfortable. We shared with 2 couples. we took turns to rotate seats each drive so that everyone got a different perspective. But as all the sides are open you can see everything clearly. Open safari trucks are the number one MUST HAVE in any safari camp we visit. Lewa did not disappoint. If you have the time do ask your guide to arrange a visit to the Lewa Conservancy Headquarters. They do an incredible job, it's high informative and makes you really appreciate how special Lewa conservancy is. Thanks to our incredible guide Zion for making sure we were able to visit. The staff at Lewa Camp were very professional, very friendly and nothing was much trouble. Edwin the chef superbly catered for a strictly gluten free diet- every single meal. Thanks! It was all delicious and we were reassured at every meal. A delightful and comfortable camp, put it on your list and visit the one of the original community conservancies in Kenya! Totally worth it!

This camp had the gracious hospitality, food, drinks and service of a five star hotel with the relaxed comfortable feel of a relaxed family gathering. All of Keith’s & Benedine’s team were kind and informative, the chef made extraordinary meals, the morning coffee service outside our tent was the best way to start the day, the espresso martini was one of the best we’ve had , the dinner service by Andrew made us feel relaxed and pampered and the rangers guided us safely and actually made a point to find us when they found a bush baby in the trees one night - because my son & his fiancé said they wanted to see one. The housekeepers were excellent, the massage was the best I’ve had -& I’ve had quite a few. All this before I praise the most important part of the experience -the game drives with Mishke . We were so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, informative kind, patient guide on the first leg of our trip- the black rhinos were at the top of our list so the 3 mother/babies we saw thrilled us- but he continued to find more amazing animal experiences, birds, etc AND we had so much fun in the Ngare Ndare forest - hiking to a waterfall , jumping off rocks into a pool of deep cool water, crossing the forest canopy and meeting the ranger, Jane, and even the ride there and back, over seemingly unpassable terrain, was so much fun! Plus we saw the community around Lewa and learned so much about the area and all that Lewa is doing to conserve wildlife-our primary interest. We even had a black rhino grazing outside our tent one afternoon as we enjoyed a bottle of wine! What more could one ask for? Except that all of this was done with conservation paramount in all they did…so hard to leave
