Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort

the front desk personel were very helpful and pleasent. the concierge desk lady was rude and did not seem to care about assisting us with their advertised paid property tour. she clearly did not care who i was. i would not let rude staff member affect the other great staff and change my option to consider the hotel for another stay. our room was far from the restaurant and i asked to upgrade at our cost however there were no rooms available. seemed untrue as there were very little cars and people on this huge property. this hotel and property has alot of potential and wish to see it be better

My room was clean and tidy, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Love the options at the the breakfast buffet but the hotels infrastructure needs cleaning and upgrading. Terrible smell of the seaweed on the coastal shore was unbearable but overall I had a good experience though.

This property is horrible. We booked for 3 nights only stood one night and left. I tried to ask for a refund and was told I couldn’t because it was booked thru a 3rd party. This place is unbelievable the smell, foul! Like unbearable. everything is rusted from the entrance door handle to the bathtub handle. wires just everywhere, windows covered in a foggy film. place looks deserted as it really should be. They need to shut down. I have so much to say about this place. Nothing good unfortunately

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort. Considering the premium price we paid, the experience was far below acceptable standards. The property is clearly not being properly maintained. There were broken balustrades around the resort, and several areas were inaccessible because sections of the ceiling had fallen out. This created an impression of neglect and poor upkeep throughout the property. The room itself had a persistent musty smell, which made it feel damp and unpleasant from the moment we arrived. Things became even worse when we left the room and returned to find that something had been nibbling at snacks we had left on the table. Later that same day, we discovered a mouse in the room. After reporting the issue, we were relocated to another room just a few doors away, only to encounter the exact same problem again. To add to the disappointment, the beach was covered with large amounts of seaweed, making the sea uninviting and essentially unbathable during our stay. For the price charged by this resort, these conditions are completely unacceptable. The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast, which was enjoyable and offered a good selection. Unfortunately, that was not enough to make up for the poor maintenance, unpleasant rooms, rodent issue, and unusable beach. I would not recommend this resort and would not choose to stay here again.

The condition of the property on the beautiful island is a total disappointment and embarrassment for the island and the hotel industry never have I ever seen a property in this bad shape. This property needs a major overhaul, and not to mention the smell of dead fish and sea weeds covering the entire beach made my family and I sick to our stomach all the time we were there on the beach and in our room, we could not enjoy the pools nor the property. I think the Government or the Hotel industry should step in and correct it this is unfair to customers like myself and the hard working employees. It’s way over priced to stay there the food and drinks. Worst stay at a hotel ever.

I booked only because I’ve stayed there many times before and they are known for the amazing breakfast with local and foreign foods, I was sooooooo disappointed to see that only one item was local (buljol), the bake that was served was as dry as cardboard…let’s talk about the room, it was clean, but the shower was sooooo dated that water was spilling out as the door wouldn’t close to seal properly, the toilet handle kept slipping off the latch for proper flushing, had to take the cover off to manually flush…and water was running out from the toilet onto the floor, gross…this is my last stay there…the many times I’ve stayed there and enjoyed everything about the place, now to this, the grounds are well kept, the staff was wonderful but those things are not the room…which is what I paid for…good luck to Magdalena Grand in the future, really hope things change to bring me back🙌

Clean room. Very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and willing to bring extra towels and shampoo and conditioner on request. They have golf carts and bicycles to use. 3 very clean well kept pools. Breakfast was great as a meat eater but not many vegetarian options or gluten free options. Can have more veggie filled dishes other than pastries and waffles etc. Food tasted wonderful. Easter time of year has plenty sargassum seaweed which smells quite unpleasant but at the main pool was very breezy and didn’t get the smell. The staff is extremely friendly and would love to interact with them again. AC was good we had no issues. Fridge in room but no microwave. Standing shower and bathtub both present in the bathroom. Room came with large balcony and chairs to sit and was very relaxing. Free parking. Would love to visit again but at a different time of year with less seaweed and hopefully they can have more vegetarian/gluten free breakfast options. 5 minute drive into Crown Point or Shirvan Road where has many food and beach options.

The property needs maintenance. While it is kept clean, I had issues with the balcony door (no one came to attend to it either). The TV never worked. There was no water for one day and no announcement to say as such. There wasn’t even a map so you could find amenities. Overall customer service down right poor. Workers generally had a poor or rude attitude. Restaurant was closed and found out only at dinner time. Service in the pub was not great. Would I stay here again? Most likely not. You couldn’t even bathe on the beach here. Also it should be clearly displayed that the hotel will CALL a taxi for you. The cost of this ‘shuttle’ is not included and must be paid by you.

Magdelena Grand never fails to satisfy to our every need whenever we vacation there. From the warm hospitality to the exquisite menus, you will always regret not staying longer.
