Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihonbashi Premier / Tokyo

The hotel as a whole was very quiet and clean. The public bath on the 9th floor wasn't crowded, offering a very serene experience with massage chairs and toiletries. Downstairs, there's direct access to the JR subway and Mitsukoshi department store, and a 7-Eleven right next door, which was incredibly convenient. The only downside was that the room was a bit small.

I stayed for eight nights in a row, and overall, it was a mixed experience. While I don't want to give a bad review, some negative aspects were quite apparent, and in the spirit of being factual, I feel I should share them. Let's start with the positives. First, the location is excellent. The hotel is connected directly to the subway station downstairs. If you're coming on the Ginza Line or Hanzomon Line, get off at Mitsukoshimae Station. As others have mentioned, Exit A9 has an elevator, while A10 does not, requiring stairs. However, if you don't want to come up to street level, walk past A10 and continue straight in the direction of JR Shin-Nihombashi. About 40 meters further, you'll find Exit 1 (as shown in the picture). Go in, take the escalator up, then turn left (as shown in the picture), and you'll see the hotel's small entrance. Inside, a woman in a kimono will greet you and guide you to the elevator, informing you that the front desk is on the 9th floor. So, three subway lines pass through the hotel, offering direct access to many attractions, and it's only one stop from Tokyo Station. Second, the customer service was generally very good. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were polite and greeted guests respectfully. Third, the room size was just right for one person, and the amenities mostly met customer needs. It was generally clean, though there were some noticeable scuff marks on the walls and a bit of dust in the corners. However, it wasn't overtly unbearable, so I'd say the room's cleanliness was acceptable. Fourth, the air conditioning in the room was freely adjustable and almost silent, and the soundproofing was excellent, making for a quiet night's sleep. Fifth, the shopping environment was great, with plenty of goods and fewer crowds. The subway concourse connects to several surrounding shopping malls, like Mitsukoshi Department Store and the Muromachi shopping centers. If you walk 200-300 meters further towards Kanda Station, you'll find even more restaurants and izakayas. There's also a 7-Eleven downstairs. Now for the negatives. First, the bed was a bit too firm for my liking. After eight nights, my back was a bit sore, and I didn't sleep well, leading to a lack of energy during the day. So, if you prefer a soft bed, you should seriously consider this. Second, the breakfast wasn't very diverse. While there were indeed many delicate small dishes, there were only six basic hot dishes, which didn't change at all over eight mornings. It became very repetitive, and I really didn't feel like eating it during the last three days. Third, the actions of a particular cleaning staff member genuinely shocked me. Usually, in my room, I don't lock my suitcase every day once it's open; I just close it lightly for easy access. For the first few days, it was fine. But on the sixth day, after I came back from sightseeing in the evening, I was surprised to find my suitcase had been turned upside down, and everything inside was in disarray (as shown in the picture). My toiletry bag was inverted, and there was some sandy substance scattered on my pants. I haven't even been to a beach, so I found it very strange where this sand came from. Clearly, a cleaning staff member came to work with an attitude and took it out on my luggage. I can only put it down to bad luck. Fourth, the hotel has its own communal bath (onsen), and this was a mixed bag. For the first few days, I genuinely enjoyed it and went daily; it was quite comfortable. However, after a few days, every time I used it, my calves would start to itch (as shown in the picture). I bought a small ointment, applied it twice, and it got better. On the last day, I didn't dare to go. I suspect the water in their bath might not have been changed or disinfected daily. In conclusion, for stays of 3-4 days or less, this hotel is still a good option. For stays longer than 3-4 days, I recommend looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

The room has a separate wet and dry area, and there's a large public bath on the 9th floor. They use Pola skincare products and Rafa showerheads. The best part is truly its excellent location. Turn left out of the hotel and the closest department store is Mitsukoshi, followed by Takashimaya and Daimaru. The Ginza subway line (G) is right next to the hotel, making it super convenient to get to Senso-ji Temple, Omotesando, and Shinjuku. Across the street from the hotel, you'll also find Eslite Bookstore and a Japanese department store.

Having stayed at various Mitsui Hotels in the Ginza area (including the Celestine series), my recent experience at Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihonbashi Premier was entirely new. I'm delighted to share my personal insights for fellow travelers. To start, whether you're traveling for leisure or business, if you're looking for a relaxing and unhurried trip, this hotel is an excellent choice. 1. First and foremost is its superb location. You can reach the hotel by subway from both Haneda and Narita airports, saving both time and money. The hotel itself is a hub for multiple subway lines. A short walk to nearby Mitsukoshimae, Shin-Nihonbashi, or Kanda stations provides access to almost all major attractions and bustling areas of Tokyo. The Nihonbashi and Muromachi districts, where the hotel is located, are the heart of Tokyo's financial and business center. Within a 1-kilometer radius alone, you could easily spend 2-3 days enjoying the food and shopping. 2. Despite its incredible convenience, stepping into the hotel lobby immediately brings a sense of tranquility and elegance. A unique and pleasant aroma fills the air, making you feel as if you've entered a secluded paradise. The hotel's design is also full of thoughtful touches, especially the artistic flair and spaciousness of the public areas. This is a huge bonus for guests who need to conduct business meetings or simply unwind. 3. On average, the hotel staff are quite young, yet they all demonstrate a remarkable level of service enthusiasm, which is truly precious. In today's Japan, with over 40 million international visitors annually, the feeling of 'home away from home' has become a luxurious treat. Quick tip: The hotel's basement provides direct access to the surrounding subway stations. Make sure to take advantage of this incredibly convenient feature (especially during bad weather or if you have heavy luggage)!

The breakfast was great with a wide variety of choices, and the hygiene was excellent. The location is super convenient; you can walk everywhere you want to explore, eat, or drink. The service was good too. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The room layout is quite good. The open-plan bathroom and bedroom are separated by a sliding door. Tokyo rooms are generally small, but this Mitsui property feels relatively spacious. There's a coffee table and a sofa, which is convenient for putting things down or having a quick bite. Check-in is on the 9th floor, and you can grab toiletries and skincare products before heading up the elevator. The hot spring bath is right next to the elevator – it's incredibly refreshing after a long day of walking! The hotel's ground floor connects directly to Mitsukoshimae and Shin-Nihonbashi subway stations. It's just a short taxi ride to Tokyo Station and Ginza, so the location is excellent. The entire hotel has a subtle, pleasant aroma (I can't recall the exact scent). Overall, a very high-quality stay!
