Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside Reviews

Stayed here for a few nights and honestly quite shiok. Room was very clean and well maintained, typical Japanese standard. Location also very convenient — walking distance to Shinjuku station and plenty of food and convenience stores nearby, so supper no problem. Staff were friendly and service was smooth during check-in and check-out. Amenities were decent, though nothing too fancy, but good enough for a comfortable stay. Overall very solid hotel if you’re planning to stay in Shinjuku. Good balance of price, cleanliness and location. Would stay again next time.

I specifically looked for a hotel with a washing machine in the room. This hotel's rooms are quite spacious; we stayed in a tatami room, and there was more than enough space to lay out two suitcases. The room had a Refa shower head and hairdryer, which were really good – we even went to Bic Camera to buy the same models. Also, the laundry detergent provided had incredibly strong stain-removing power, so we bought some of that too. The location is very convenient. With a Suica card, both the subway and buses are nearby and easily accessible. There's a Lawson and FamilyMart close to the hotel, making daily supplies easy to get. Within a few kilometers, there are tons of great food options and many drugstores. If I have to think of a drawback, it would be the sofa, which had some stains (probably due to age), and it was a bit unpleasant to look at. It would also be better if the charging outlets by the bed were located outside of the mattress area.

Location is close to metro station. Hotel is surrounded by lots of eateries and it's quite near to a huge supermarket. Room is fairly quiet. However, for light sleepers, you might be woken up by traffic noise (occasionally, ambulance siren). Having a washing machine in the room is really convenient for us as we are travelling in Japan for a month. It helps settle our laundry at our convenience. Room size is big enough for two. Bed is comfortable. Shower pressure is strong and water heater works!

The staff replaced new towels and rubbish bags but they left the old rubbish bag in the toilet which is ridiculous.

Clean room and friendly staff. A little farther from the nearby station than I would have liked but it was manageable. I don't think I used the facilities so can't really rate one way or the other.

Great hotel in Shinjuku, plenty going on around us without it being overwhelming. Staff were lovely, organised luggage forwarding and taxis for us. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Tokyo. Within walking distance of everything in Shinjuku.

Pros: I was quite satisfied with the in-room amenities; it came with a great washing machine and refrigerator! The room itself was very clean, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to a convenience store, the subway, and my favorite abura soba place! It's not far from the shopping mall or Shinjuku JR station either. Cons: The air conditioner in the room blows directly onto the head of the bed, and my husband caught a cold from it! The room felt stuffy, and opening the window didn't help much. The curtains didn't block out the light, and combined with the stuffiness, I woke up many times throughout the night. In the morning, the soundproofing was terrible; children's voices echoed throughout the hallway! I was really sleepy during the day. The breakfast was also very minimalistic. For a hotel costing over 1700, the value for money isn't great.

It is a convenience location. near by 100m has Metro station. Opposite has McD and Aeon minimart. Room are clean and comfort. Staff also friendly and nice.

Everything is good except the hair dryer. It was hot, low flow and very noisy. We thought it was not good so we didn't report it. But we found this brand is quite good until we stay in another Tokyo Stay. Pls check it. We stayed on L10, forgot the room number. Btw I will book again and recommend anyone who wants high cost performance.

Great hotel

It’s just not worth the price you pay. Accom in Tokyo is expensive I get that. But there has to be better options out there. The room was pretty small the hotel itself feels new and nice. Staff are fine. Just couldn’t justify what I paid though.

Good location, walkable from Isetan and Kabukicho, and surrounded by many restaurant. Room is clean and comfortable

Location: Seemed like a good option near Shinjuku Station overall, but it's a bit of a walk, about 20 minutes from the station. Room: Booked a twin room, and I really liked the layout. They managed to separate the bedroom and living areas within a very limited space. Service: Free luggage storage was available. Although the front desk wasn't overly enthusiastic, when I checked in, my luggage was soaked from the rain, and they kindly offered towels to dry it. We also got to draw a gashapon capsule when checking in, and the hotel provides free umbrellas. There are free drinks from the coffee machine in the lobby. Facilities: Pretty good, but there's a strong, unpleasant smell whenever the air conditioning is turned on in the room. I hope they can clean the AC regularly.
