Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

We booked an executive floor room this time, and we were given one on the 37th floor. Breakfast can be enjoyed either on the executive floor or at the main restaurant on the 2nd floor. The room size was excellent; it wasn't cramped for two people! We could easily open two or three 28-inch suitcases. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all the toiletries were L'Occitane. The shower pressure was also great~ The complimentary bottled water in the room came in aluminum bottles. The executive lounge also offered afternoon tea 🫖, and after 5 PM, it was happy hour with unlimited alcoholic beverages 🍹👍

First off, I need to clarify that the photos below are of the hotel's **Spacious Twin Room**! The **Superior Twin Room** listed on Trip.com has those really old bathrooms! 😭 I asked the front desk, and all the photos of newly renovated rooms are either for an upgraded Spacious Twin Room, or for a downgraded 23-sqm room type (and the 23-sqm rooms don't have the same dry/wet separated bathroom as pictured below). Because I'm so particular about clean bathrooms, I had no choice but to pay an extra 500 RMB per night at the front desk to upgrade to the **Spacious Twin Room**... 💔 Perhaps the hotel took pity on my wallet, as they gave me an access pass to the 47th-floor lounge. Figures 3-4 below are photos of the 47th floor. It's quite large, with various seating options like chairs, sofas, tatami mats, and even hammocks for relaxing. There's also a children's play area (with a manga bookshelf) and complimentary Starbucks and soft drinks. Food and alcoholic beverages cost extra. Also, my **Spacious Twin Room** was probably set up as a triple, as they provided 3 sets of L'Occitane toiletries daily. I unexpectedly achieved 'L'Occitane sample freedom' 😂. However, I must say that Keio Plaza's transportation and location are excellent: there's an airport shuttle to and from the airport, and it's less than a 5-minute walk straight to the Shinjuku transportation hub/commercial district. It's also right opposite the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, surrounded mainly by office buildings, making the area very nice, quiet, and safe. The hotel's service has a classic touch; in the mornings, you can choose to have an English or Japanese newspaper delivered to your door, and there are attendants in the elevators who greet you and hold the door. In summary: I would consider staying here again on my next visit, but I'll definitely be more careful about choosing the room type, hahaha! 🤦

The hotel is right in Shinjuku, and you can take a direct bus from Haneda Airport. Next door is the large parking lot for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which is super convenient as tour groups for Mount Fuji depart from there in the mornings!

Convenient transportation, with a shuttle to Disneyland. The hotel has its own 7-Eleven, and across the street (minus 1, meaning an underground street or a street close by) there are many shops. My kid really loved the pork cutlet place there, eating it three times. The observatory on the 47th floor is also very nice!

The hotel's location is great, close to the subway, making it convenient to get anywhere. The breakfast selection is a bit limited, but the hygiene is excellent and the service is good.

We booked a room with three beds, which was perfect for a family of three – no need for an extra rollaway bed, and plenty of space for comfortable rest. The room also came with a full set of L'Occitane toiletries, which smelled and felt great. The hotel's location in Shinjuku makes transportation incredibly convenient, with easy access to various attractions. The service was polite and attentive, and services like luggage storage were seamless. It's an excellent choice for families with children, and I'd definitely prioritize staying here again on my next trip to Tokyo. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling with kids.

The hotel definitely has a lot of history. Especially the South Wing where I stayed, the room had a 2000s guesthouse vibe. It was quite cramped for a family of three; with our luggage open, there was barely any space to move, so it was good we only stayed one night. There were many hotel staff, and check-in was very fast. There are plenty of convenience stores and coffee shops nearby, and it's a convenient 10-minute walk to Shinjuku Station.

The room facilities are relatively new, on par with a domestic four-star hotel. However, the toiletries and amenities are quite basic, similar to what you'd find in a budget hotel. Check-in was efficient, but the service was just average, I didn't really encounter any standout service.
