Wonder Hostel

The facilities at this hotel are incredibly new. Even though it's a youth hostel, you can book multiple beds for a family trip. The room has bunk beds, which the kids absolutely loved climbing up and down. The beds themselves were large and comfortable.

The hotel's facade is quite unassuming; you might walk right past it without noticing. However, the rooms are decent, clean, and simple. If you turn right out of the hotel and go down a few steps, there's a medium-sized supermarket on your right, offering a good variety of items at reasonable prices. I'm not sure why Google Maps only shows a more distant supermarket, but if you can't find it, you can ask the front desk. The town is small. From the hotel, it's just a short walk, less than 8 minutes, to the Sun Gate. From there, you can just wander through the town without needing a plan; just go wherever your feet take you. Everyone eventually ends up at the central square halfway up the hill. If you're visiting in the summer, avoid going out at midday. The temperatures are fine in the early morning and evening, but otherwise, you risk getting heatstroke. Also, if you're driving and want to take photos from across the valley, you can easily find the exact location online at night. We went in the morning, and it was beautiful, with few people and very quiet. For food, I wouldn't recommend any local top-rated places; I found them to be pretty average, and the service was slow. Burger King is a good option – generous portions and satisfying.

I booked through the Trip.com app and paid in advance with my credit card, but at check-in I was told the payment hadn't been processed. However, the hotel staff consulted with their supervisor and contacted Trip.com, who also responded quickly. Although it took some time, the problem was resolved very smoothly and pleasantly. The reception staff are very nice and helpful. The common areas are also very clean and well-maintained. There's just one thing to keep in mind: you need to bring your own towels. I realized this while I was in the shower and frantically dried myself with my hands 🤣. As long as you're careful about that, there's nothing to complain about!
