The Kanyo hotel staff went out of their way to make it a memorable stay. The view is spectacular and to see the sunrise from the outdoor hot springs was breathtaking. Dinner menu offered a great variety of the locally grown vegetables and the freshly caught sea foods.

The bath overlooking the bay was wonderful! But the damaged area immediately below the bath really needs to be cleaned up.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with delightful sea views.
It was frustrating that *******'s page represented that only breakfast was included at this hotel, but it turned out that both dinner and breakfast were included. We had eaten elsewhere before arriving, so our meals were wasted. ******* needs to correct its data (and, frankly, should compensate us for their error).

The open-air bath overlooking the sea is the best. The view from the room and the lobby is soothing. The food was also very delicious, and although the abalone at dinner was a little small, I was satisfied with the quantity and quality. I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, but it was rice with grated yam, mentaiko, and hot spring water. I ended up having a second helping of a sticky rice bowl topped with natto, nameko mushrooms, and shiokara. Also, the storyteller's tour of the earthquake ruins brought me to tears as he explained it, and I realized how terrible the Great Tohoku Earthquake was, even though it was only just now. It gave me an opportunity to reconsider my preparedness for disaster prevention.
