Hotels near Old Post Office, Tongxiang

This is by far the best sta I’ve stayed at in China. The location is excellent—just a short walk to Wuzhen Ancient City Gate 2, which makes exploring the area incredibly convenient. From the outside, the hotel appears quite ordinary, but the moment you step inside, the artistic Chinese tea-inspired décor completely changes the impression. The interior has a charming, traditional aesthetic that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room was clean, spacious, cozy, and exactly as advertised. It provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I also have to highlight the fantastic breakfast—absolutely delicious! The lady boss was very friendly and offered great advice, including encouraging me to stay out a bit later to enjoy Wuzhen’s night scenery, which turned out to be a wonderful experience. Overall, I was truly impressed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Wuzhen.

very helpful and friendly owner. walkable to Wuzhen entrance,ask owner to help transport booking if u need, breakfast and dinner can be ordered with owner . You must spend day and afternoon time in Wuzhen to feel its beautiful , sunset here is the best

The room was spotlessly clean and bright. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, with well-appointed facilities. The service was attentive and thoughtful, and the owner was incredibly warm, helpful, and personable. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends.

From Jiaxing Railway Station, you should take Didi to this hotel though using public transport is still possible. You can find the hailing location easily, and the officers near hailing location are helpful. The hotel itself has spacious rooms, decent facilities, hot water, etc. I visit it when the temperature below 5°C in January. So everything hot is ”mandatory”. If the air condition was too hard to make your room comfortably warm, you can ask for extra heater, portable. The hotel doesn't have elevators, but don't worry, the hotel officer (owner ?) will gladly help you to bring all your luggage up to the first floor. It seem that the rooms opened at floor 1 only (level 2). Sorry my mistake. The location is not faraway from Wuzhen West Gate. Near supermarket (Great Super. Turn left from hotel's door, walk around 200m, right at the intersection), traditional market, food stalls (turn right from hotel's door) etc. I believe you will enjoy to explore.. Lastly, install Amap for navigation, Didi for hailing taxi, Alipay for payment, and everything possible for translation. Of course, buy local sim card. The people are very helpful and nice, if you do that at first to them. That's my personal experience.

Peaceful Riverside Stay in Authentic Dongzha Shuijing Jingguan is a charming B&B set in a traditional riverside house located in Dongzha, one of the two main sections of Wuzhen. Wuzhen is easily one of the most beautiful ancient water towns in China, just a 30 minute high speed train ride from Shanghai. The town is divided into two main areas, Xizha and Dongzha, both equally picturesque and within a 10 to 15 minute walk of each other. Xizha is more commercial, with shops, restaurants, and activities running from day to night, but also draws much larger crowds. We chose this B&B in Dongzha for one reason, we value peace and serenity more than the bustle. This place is basic, but perfect for what we were looking for. It’s just a short 50 meter walk from the Dongzha entrance gate, ticket required, and our room had beautiful views of the river and nearby bridge. In the early morning, before the tourists arrive, we got to witness the peaceful rhythm of local life from our window. Communication with the owner was very easy. He was responsive and helpful, and even picked us up from the nearby bus station after we arrived from Tongxiang Railway Station, which made our arrival completely stress free. Speaking of locals, Dongzha is very quiet, especially at night. Most of the area shuts down after 7 PM, with little to no activity and minimal lighting, which adds to the tranquil experience. I’ve visited quite a few ancient towns in China, and Wuzhen stands out as one of the few that still preserves much of its original charm and authenticity. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful, authentic stay away from the crowds.

The Alila Hotel in Wuzhen is a fantastic blend of luxury and traditional style, perfectly situated near the picturesque water town. The hotel’s design is both modern and elegant, and the amenities are excellent, from beautifully appointed rooms to relaxing facilities. One of the highlights was the included photography package, ”乌镇阿丽拉-新锐旅拍.” Lesley, our photographer, was amazing! Not only was she talented, but her humor and energy made the entire experience unforgettable. We were laughing non-stop, and her easygoing nature made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Overall, Alila Wuzhen offers a truly memorable stay with stunning surroundings, top-notch amenities, and the added bonus of a fun photography experience. Highly recommended!
