Golden Mar Menuda

The hotel is in a lovely location, the view is amazing breakfast on the terrace was delicious, lots of choice and cava too . We had half board and the meals were very nice but there are lots of restaurants near by too. The staff are lovely and so well trained in customer service, we asked for a kettle and it arrived in a flash the house keeper loli was brilliant The only thing is the transfer leaves you at the bus station 15 minutes away as the coaches are unable to get down to the Beach, which is OK in the day as you could get a taxi but not so good in the early hours but that is the only thing I could fault and its not the hotel's fault. I would highly recommend this hotel.

One of the best locations in Tossa but you need a sea view room. Buffet breakfast is fantastic, lots of choice. If you go half board then please understand that you are give a choice of menu for three courses, some of which have a supplement to pay. The menu offered to residents is not a la carte and may not be to everyone’s taste. If you stay for two weeks then the same menu is presented again. In hindsight we wish we had gone bed and breakfast, lots of restaurants nearby to choose from for your evening meal. We went in May so didn’t have any difficulty getting sun loungers and parasols. It rained a couple of days during our stay, apart from bar/restaurant areas there are no comfy places to sit inside the building unless you are eating or drinking. All of the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and we highly recommend it. From the moment we arrived the welcome and assistance that we received from the staff was excellent. We were on an early flight from the UK and our room was ready as soon as we arrived. Check in was swift. We hadn’t booked a sea view room and the view of the back of the hotel wasn’t to our liking. The lovely lady in reception quickly found us an alternative. We had a partial sea view which was much nicer. The only negative is that if you are at the road end of the hotel it is a little noisy in the morning with bins being emptied and the road noise. For us it was preferable to the carpark view at the back of the hotel. The rooms require a little maintenance aesthetically in places but this did not affect the comfort of our stay. We asked for a kettle in the room as only a coffee machine was provided and it arrived swiftly. If you prefer tea, take some t bags. The location of the hotel is excellent. The pool area is comfortable with the most comfortable loungers ever (the big ones) out look to the beach and castle are just stunning. I couldn’t get enough of the view. We stayed on a half board package. The food was lovely everyday. Breakfast was great as other guests have mentioned. Dinner is a set 3 course menu. I enjoyed my meal every day. The only thing that I would have liked to see was more vegetables. Most meals are served with green peppers and cherry tomatoes. I would have enjoyed a side of mixed vegetables. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful. I feel like the hotel select their staff very carefully. A special mention goes to Unai who never stops smiling and enjoyed our banter with him. Mention “mushrooms” and he’ll know what the joke was. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Mar Menuda hotel. Fantastic stay in a large sea facing room which was cleaned to perfection every day. ALL the staff were helpful and pleasant. Read a few reviews about half board not being that good. For us it was perfect. Wanted to try different Spanish dishes and that is exactly what we got. A 3 or 4 choice (per course) meal every evening with a new menu every day. All cooked extremely well. Breakfast has to rate as the best we have had in any hotel. Superbly 'laid out' buffet and masses of choice. Omelettes and eggs/bacon cooked while you wait. We will return as found the whole experience at this hotel one of the best my wife and I have had in a long time. For us it was faultless. Was just slightly disappointed the hotel couldn't have arranged better weather !! (it rained for 2 days). Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant. David & Nicola.

Amazing hotel very friendly staff,rooms very clean , balcony can be a bit bigger but with that beach right on the door step it’s not a big issue..Definitely recommend, and definitely will be back again

Short 3 night break at the start of April. We stayed in a standard double room with a small terrace view with breakfast included. The room is perfectly adequate and clean. The breakfast is absolutely brilliant, so much choice. What makes the hotel is the view from the restaurant / terrace and the staff. Every member of staff go above and beyond to ensure you are having a great time. I would 100% recommend this hotel.

This was our first time back for three years due to the pandemic, and it didn’t disappoint at all. From Jessica and the reception staff to Josep and Estrella in the bar and restaurant all staff were fantastic and very attentive. The location of the hotel is ideal, just across from the beach and a short walk into town. The breakfast and the food in the restaurant were a very high standard. This was another truly wonderful trip to the Golden Mar Menuda, and totally relaxing. We would recommend this hotel to all, and if you’ve not been we urge you to give it a try.

Excellent breakfast with the best omelette. Great location next to beach and sea. Nice balcony. The staff carried my luggage up and down some stairs. Received hiking tips from staff.
