Hotel Tonnara Trabia

The hotel is god for a business trip if dealing with people east of Palermo. It is in an ideal position; close to the ocean, rail system and highway. Food is excellent, breakfast is somewhat limited but good. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean but old and probably need some work. I would stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for one night as my son was getting married next door in the castle. The plus points are the location next to the castle and the restaurant but the rest of the stay was very disappointing. The room looks very tired and could do with a lick of paint. The shower had a very rusty shampoo tray and this had worked itself along most of the shower leaving dark brown marks. The shower-head was encrusted with limescale and could do with replacing. The aircon in the room although working had only a single setting (as the knob was broken). We asked if here was an iron and ironing board and they initially said "no there isn't" then when pushed they said the the laundry depar**ent could do this but at 6 euro was expensive for something that should be no more than 5 minutes. We had the feeling that everything was "too much effort" for the staff. The breakfast was mediocre at best and the best thing was the coffee (albeit from a machine). The most annoying thing is that guest seem to have complained for some time looking at the reviews but no action appears to have been taken by the staff or management. I cannot understand how this hotel ever managed to get 4 stars as this is a 2 star hotel at most. The website looks very appealing but suspect these are very old pictures as I don't think any money has been spent recently. A bit of Jekyll and Hide, some bits are good but too many are bad to leave a good review. Ron

Shower completely broken. Plug stuck in basin. No irons available tomorrow a shirt. No air conditioning in bedroom. Broken chairs outside. Needs total refurbishment. Heed all negative reviews as totally justified.

It’s A Beautiful Hotel. The food was delicious. Just sweet!!

The food is great and the pool is nice, but some rooms are more modern than others - The location next to the castle is great, but the marina has no services for the public. Hard to get a taxi or ride anywhere so you really need a car

I would never stay here again. Our AC was shut off at 6 am and we woke up in a panic attack because of how hot the room was. We had ti run to the front desk to ask for the AC to be turned on,Italy had a heat warning that day …. We were told we can eat at 1 pm after waiting around for hours at 2 pm they find us ti tell us the table was ready, we denied the table since we already had other plans the lady rolled her eyes in disgust. We would never stay here again.

The pool closes at 1830. No WiFi connection in room. Seaside room gets locked with gate can not access beach from room at 1830. Room has very little light. Very dark. Construction starts at 0700 above room, very loud banging unable to sleep. I would Not come back or recommend this hotel

The worst 4 stars hotel we’ve ever been. I actually don’t know how it can be a four stars hotel. Ugly room and services. The air conditioning is not working and can’t be turned on since it works only in certain hours! You can’t even bath at the sea and they host marriages as well so it’s impossible to sleep until 3:00 am ‘cause the music is too loud. Absolutely not recommended!

Not worth the money. The location is fantastic but the service very poor. We had to change the room overnight because the aircon wasn't working. We ended up in a room street level with the noise of passing by cars very unpleasant since early morning. There was a power cut overnight. Aircon off for couple of hrs. We were there because of a wedding in the castle right next to it. After the change of room and power cut we ended up in bed very late so we missed the breakfast. When we came to the restaurant 20 mins after the end of the breakfast we asked for a coffee and they declined the offer. We were meant to attend the pool with the other wedding guests but in the morning we found out we had to pay an extra fee. As I said the location is fantastic but that's all.
