To celebrate a birthday, my 2 adult daughters and I stayed at the Tarabino Inn for a night. It is a Bed and Breakfast Inn. We arrived late and wished we could have spent more time enjoying the house, from the ceilings, woodwork and furnishings to the library and extensive artwork (for sale) from local artists. We stayed in the East and West Gables that are on the top floor with one bathroom, complete with a claw-foot bathtub! The beds were comfortable and the breakfast very good. There are even robes and slippers for those who need them. Everything is pleasant, from the wonderful smelling soap to the unique little nooks within the closets that lead to the gable windows - complete with pillows so one can sit and look out over Trinidad or snuggle up with a good book. We would definitely return for a full weekend or even longer! The area offers the Santa Fe Trail, the Highway of Legends, art galleries, antique stores, and sculpture, all steeped in history. If you want a night life, this is not the place for you but if you like to stay in a comfortable, beautiful bed and breakfast in a small southwestern city, Tarabino Inn is just the right place.
