Good lodge, location, environment

This lodge was rated the highest among our tour members! The hotel design is great, combining African culture and natural environment. In front of the lobby is a waterhole where you can see animals coming to drink water. The room was my favorite during the entire safari trip. I love the design, especially the balcony! You can see the waterhole from your room. I'll recommend people who plan to visit Tsavo to stay at this lodge!

Kilaguni Serena — an unforgettable, top-class wildlife stay We had the most amazing experience at Kilaguni Serena. The entrance alone takes your breath away — truly beautiful and a dramatic welcome to the park. Our room was fabulous, with thoughtful little touches that went the extra mile: robes and slippers provided, luxurious Elemis toiletries, and a neat insect-repellent plug-in in the room. Turn-down service was attentive and added to the sense of care. Do note you’ll want long trousers and closed shoes in the evenings because of insects, but the lodge’s preparations (repellents, service) made this easy to manage. The waterhole is the star attraction. We sat for hours watching a spectacular parade of wildlife — herds of buffalo, playful elephants, and even hyenas visiting — all within easy view. It was simply amazing and kept us enthralled throughout our stay. Highly, highly recommended for anyone wanting luxury combined with outstanding wildlife viewing.

Stayed here early July. Family of 8 (in 4 rooms). It is absolutely stunning. Accommodation spotlessly clean and well-maintained by the excellent friendly staff. Meals are amazing and the swimming pool is tremendous and very much needed after a hot day on game drives. The star of the show is the waterhole, with large amounts of animals (of all varieties) coming and going all day and night. The only complaint (and its not a complaint) I have is that we found it almost impossible to pull ourselves away from watching the waterhole at night to go to bed. Everytime we were about to leave, some other animals came in and began their show. A truly amazing experience and I would recommend this place to everyone.

A great place to go for your first 3 days in Africa. Sit there, relax, and the animals come to you. Maybe take in a late night safari as the moon and weather will be incredible. The food is all homemade and there is always something you can find to eat. The salads and fruit were all washed with purified water so you can relax. The accommodations all have lovely views. Staff is friendly and pool was a great dip to cool off. Can one complain at all or find fault - hard to do. Go see this special place where you can sit in front of a watering hole in the shade with an ice cold drink. I sat there for 17 hours watching the animals. It was so fun, I couldn’t believe that the time went so quickly. Peaceful relaxation, and a great launch to another safari park. Really would spend 3 days here the next time I’m on my way to somewhere in that region. Take the train in premier class from Nairobi and prearrange a pickup with the hotel. One of the amazing places.
