Tweed Harbour Motor Inn

We have stayed a few times now whilst travelling from QLD to NSW and back. The rooms are great. Have everything you need. Even though when you book direct, you get free continental breakfast, yet you are provided with a toaster, microwave, electric frypan, all cooking utensils and crockery. Our room even had an electric single element to cook. You have all the comforts, good beds, sofa etc. You are within walking distance of clubs and restaurants. A great place to stay.

Upon our arrival we were met with a lovely receptionist who was warm, friendly and accomodating, so much so that I was willing to overlook the broken fridge in the room, despite the fact it was an amenity we had paid for as part of our charge. That evening after arriving back to the room late, we went straight to sleep. At approx 2-3am I was awoken by something crawling on my legs. I woke up and inspected the bed to find that there were cockroaches in the bed. I started inspecting the room more closely and found cockroaches in the bathroom, running across the floor of the room and in our luggage. I also noticed mould on one of the pillows on the bed. By this stage, my skin was crawling, so at 7.5 months pregnant and desperate for a night's sleep, I had to sleep in my car. The next day I showed the photos to the lovely woman on reception who was apologetic but asked me to follow up with the owner directly in my request for refund. When I did contact the gentleman the next day, I was swiftly brushed off and told to contact booking.com. They have now encouraged me to reach out to you directly to follow up. Since then, there has been absolutely no apology or any offer of compensation for our horrific stay at this property
Calico Court Motel

There is no breakfast, but the simple items on the menu can be booked the night before, no extra bed is available. Our room is a double bed and a quadruple room with a double bed and two single beds. He likes it only on two floors. As soon as the door is opened on the basement floor, there is an open space for parking. Outside our room is a dining table and barbecue facilities. It is very special. There is also a small swimming pool. Children love it. It's an advantage.) Check out is also to put the key in the mailbox. This type of hotel makes people feel a bit local. Living in their own house is a special experience.
Salt Resort & Spa Apartments by Holiday Management Company

It was pretty straightforward to pick up key from a real estate shop a few a couple of KMs down the road of the hotel. The hotel is great. Room is fresh and spacious (note we got a different room number but still has the same amenities). There is a shared entrance with the next room, before your own room's main door. There is one heated pool in the complex away from the main section.
Arabella Motor Inn (Formerly South Tweed Motor Inn)

The store is a young Chinese couple, very kind and enthusiastic. The injured shop in the middle is very enthusiastic to help, and the unfamiliar local culture is very enthusiastic to introduce to us. It is the first choice for nearby hotels.
