Happy Hostel

Good location near the train station. Quiet neighborhood. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Perfect place if you need to live near Ulaanbaatar railway station - it is 3 minutes walking from hostel. Price is very cheap. We lived in a private room for 2 people. Also there are kitchen with everything you need, clean bathroom. Tea, coffee, bread, butter and some candies included. Owner is very friendly and hospitable, always helps if you have questions. We liked to stay there. Баярлалаа! 🙂

A very short walk to the train station! This is a great location if you’re taking the train. Perfect for a one night stop. The owner was lovely and had a few items ready for a small breakfast even though we had an early train. We had some confusion on where to enter the building; there is a sign in front that says “Happy Hostel” but the entrance is through the door in the back.

Was very hard to find the hostel and I also had a hard time communicating with them. They also double booked me on a separate booking and I had to cancel. They did apologize and give me a private room which I very much appreciated. I arranged a ride to the airport for 3:30AM with them and I could have communicated better, but I found my ride was 2000 turghik cheaper on UBCab. I confirmed the ride for 3:30 over text and something got lost in translation and was willing to pay their 10000 Turghik for the ride. I woke up and waited outside only to find the driver wasn’t there. Ended up only staying there from 9PM-3AM and it took me an hour to find the actual hostel and honestly didn’t have a great experience with this place. Maybe other people might have better luck than me. Thanks for giving me a place to sleep before my early flight.
