We spent 6 days at the end of April at Thaproban Waves Hotel in Unawatuna, and I must say the hotel was outstanding. It features two beautiful swimming pools – one saltwater and one freshwater – both offering stunning ocean views. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, with large, luxurious bathrooms. Everything was consistently clean and well maintained. The hotel also has a large bar area with both indoor and outdoor seating, directly connected to the restaurant. The entire setup looks very appealing and is kept in excellent condition. The service from the management down to the housekeeping staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and very professional. All staff members speak excellent English and were welcoming and attentive throughout the entire day. The head chef consistently prepared excellent food and was happy to accommodate special requests. The waiters also served delicious drinks and took care of every detail we asked for. I can highly recommend this place. The prices are very fair, and the portion sizes were always generous. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was extremely pleasant, and I would like to extend a big thank you to all the staff for their outstanding hospitality. If I return to Sri Lanka, I will definitely come back here again. I can only warmly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
