The hotel is set in a stunning location, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the scenery. My room was in a corner with a small balcony blocked by a high wall, basically unusable. While the room looked clean at first glance, the towels and sheets had visible stains, which was off-putting. The staff were not welcoming, more curt and unfriendly than helpful. I had multiple issues with transportation: twice my pre-booked cab or tuk tuk was not allowed to pick me up. Even my airport transfer was denied access, with the hotel insisting I pay them to take me somewhere nearby to be picked up. This forced use of their overpriced transport felt like a scam, almost like being caught in a tuk tuk mafia situation. It also seemed like they actively blocked ride-hailing apps. The sea was too rough to swim in during my stay, but the pool was decent. Overall, the lack of hospitality and the transport manipulation left a bad taste. Would not return.

We went to Angel Beach Club based on positive reviews and social media, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We were the only table for dinner, seated indoors with no atmosphere. Staff were sitting behind us on laptops doing paperwork, and one staff member was even asleep in the corner-completely unprofessional. Service was poor. Our server had no knowledge of the menu and kept repeating “order pizza” without being able to recommend anything specific. The food was equally underwhelming. The Adana kebab came with just two small pieces of lamb on burnt flatbread. When we raised this, Executive Chef Sameera came to the table but instead of resolving the issue professionally, he challenged the feedback and insisted the dish was fine. He offered a replacement with only one piece since we had already started eating, which came across as dismissive and arrogant. The chicken gyro wrap was dry, overloaded with fries, and had very little chicken. To top it off, we were presented with the bill without asking, while we were still planning to order more-clearly being rushed out. This place has potential, but the current team, including the handling by Executive Chef Sameera, falls far below expected hospitality standards. Urgent management attention is needed.

In this hotel we could feel ourself as Angels because of the atmosphere and decorations This premium beach resort & Club is located in Unawatuna, a 4-minute walk from famous Dalawella Beach (with turtles) and 5min drive to the train stations. We ciao Ted both train stations (one to come to Unawatuna, another one to go back to Colombo). We stayed at stylish ‘Deluxe’ room with private courtyard & spacious bathroom. In the room we found branded reusable flasks instead of water in plastic bottles. You can refill it anytime you need. It’s really very convenient! Resort has for guests a direct beachfront with private beach area, a year-round outdoor swimming pool, lush gardens and a terrace. If you don’t stay at resort, you still can come here as a guest for day-cation to chill in the pool or bar with a drink. We saw many new people daily during the staying. But we were happy to stay here in hotel too to use all facilities and wake up near the sea. There is an exclusively reserved for guests indoor lounge where you can relax and escape from the island heat: read a book, play a board game or even sip on a cocktail in elegant place. During Sunday buffet brunch they have desserts and fruits there. You can choose one of 3 breakfast sets: Angel’s full, local and vegetarian. I always asked to have their amazing traditional hoppers from local breakfast. One of my favorite dishes in Sri Lanka. There are many delicious options for lunch from the menu if you have full-board. On Sunday they have a special ’Pink Sunday' with brunch (buffet style), live music and DJ. Little guests won’t be bored with entertainment at Little Angels Kids Club. Food was really so good even with other restrictions. The restaurant has great dishes from the new menu. Black eye peas and house salads, grilled octopus, tuna steak and mango & avocado ice creams for a dinner were really delicious. I really loved wonderful sunsets with the ocean and details from hotel near the beach (they use real candles on the tables even). There are many thematic sessions during the week.

Beautiful setting on beige sandy beach with very attentive, friendly, helpful staff, great food and beverages. Lost one star for thumping loud music all day. One genre. Not everyone enjoys the same music. Crashing waves or people’s private headphones a better option for such a luxury environment. Different at night if advertised as a Club evening or DJ.

We stayed for 10 nights. The room was big, with a separate dressing area and a big bathroom. Everything in the room was kept very clean. Lights especially in the bathroom were very dim though and the only outside space was a small, airless enclosed courtyard which had the noisy air conditioning fan. The walls were really thin and we could hear a lot of noise from the family next door. The cushions on the sunloungers on the beach were quite dirty, but maybe that is because they have white covers. The beach towels also weren’t great quality and had holes in them. Breakfast was very good. 3 choices and all huge and with a good selection. Service was really slow and quite haphazard. Food came cold, drinks flat, food didn’t arrive together etc. we gave up eating at the hotel and ending up eating out, which you need to get a tuk tuk for, which are always available. Most of the staff were very friendly, even if the service wasn’t always great. The lady who served us for breakfast was always lovely. Overall it was ok, but some tweaks would have made it a lot better.

We enjoyed our stay as the room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was fabulous as lots of choices presented well. The pool area was great but there are lots of sun beds to accommodate the beach club which made walk areas narrow Staff were attentive and helpful. They were all friendly. There is a daily DJ set so at times the music had a constant beat which gets a bit monotonous but sat on the beach helps to get away from it. Turtle beach is a short walk away along the beach which is worth a visit.

Only stayed for one night as we were on a tour and wished we could have stayed longer! Location is right on the beach and the pool area has got a fabulous vibe. We loved the music but I could imagine some would find it to be a little loud and there was a group of lively holidaymakers enjoying themselves !! Our room was smallish but beautiful and very close to the beach. We enjoyed our evening meal on the edge of beach and it was absolutely delicious! It felt very special having our meal and drinks listening to the waves crashing onto the beach. All staff were amazing and would definitely recommend!!

Very disappointing experience and misleading information. The ticket description was unclear and did not reflect what was actually included. BBQ was mentioned on the ticket, but nowhere was it properly explained that guests are allowed to use it. When we arrived, the first thing we did was ask staff what was included in the ticket, and we were told only towels and a sunbed — nothing else. Additionally, the information advertised on social media was incorrect. Kids Club was a big dissapintment aswell - just drawing which you can find in any Cafe. This inconsistency caused unnecessary confusion and frustration. Overall, the expectations created by the advertising did not match the reality at all. Clear communication is essential, especially when customers are paying for an experience. Unfortunately, this place did not deliver value for money, and I would not recommend it based on our experience.
