Dunes Unawatuna Hotel

A fantastic stay! The owner and staff were very attentive, the hotel was clean, and the facilities were complete and easy to use. The hotel provides towels for guests to use on the beach. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It's very close to the beach, just a short walk away.

This is a wonderful place - to live in the jungle 😻 A very beautiful garden with a lake, a very atmospheric room with a veranda and the coolest thing is the shower with an open ceiling and plants. Monkeys came - ogs live on the territory of a family of 8, birds, a small monitor lizard and a mongoose were seen. The service is excellent, cleaning is perfect, a minibar and its own cafe - if you are not staying at the hotel, you can just visit it - it's a quiet island on the noisy street of Una. The location is excellent closer to the middle of the street - almost opposite is the best fruit stand!

A chic, unassuming hotel in the heart of a bustling tourist area. The grounds are like a jungle, with monkeys and all sorts of animals. Everything is close by, including the beach and a ton of cafes. The soundproofing is poor, but each room comes with free earplugs.

Excellent room. Pros: 1. Location. On a street with restaurants and cafes. Close to the road and the beach. 2. Private grounds with a pond, home to a large fish, but the grounds aren't exactly landscaped. You might encounter other creatures, too. There are mosquitoes, so don't leave your room open. 3. Fresh papaya juice is offered upon check-in. There's a cafe. 4. Clean, spacious, and cozy room. Stylish. With a safe. A true deluxe experience—you walk in and relax. Large, soft bed. Soap, shampoo, and shower gel—everything is included. 5. Each room has an umbrella for the rain. Towels and a beach bag are provided. 6. Price. Compared to the surrounding area, this is an excellent option. There are so many run-down, ugly, and inconvenient options at higher prices. Cons: 1. The height of the door frames. At 182 cm tall, I missed them twice during my stay. It was quite painful. 2. The rooms on the first floor can easily hear the second floor. When someone walks upstairs, it sounds like someone is walking next to you and the floorboards creak. It's very strange and scary. 3. The critters. They don't bother us. But there are lizards running along the walls in the rooms. :) We really liked the hotel. I recommend it. It will be on our top list when we return.

A quiet boutique hotel with its own grounds, close to the beach and on the main street with restaurants.

It is quiet in a busy area, the yard is beautiful, squirrels, birds and lizards are jumping around in the yard, it is very comfortable to have breakfast and drink coffee here, but don't forget to spray mosquito repellent. As for the room, it can only be said to be average, quite quiet, but there are many mosquitoes, mosquito nets save lives. By the way, the restaurant and coffee downstairs are open to the public, so even if you don't stay here, you can still enjoy the essence of this hotel.
