This is our second visit to this lovely, quiet, dogfriendly location. Nicely decorated bedroom. Friendly helpful staff. Thank you to Ashley for looking after us at dinner. Good choice of food. Delicious apricot and fig bread to start, choice of fish for mains and yummy toffee pudding (1 portion is enough for 2!)

Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely fresh newly refurbished double room; comfortable bed; slept like a log. Hotel has a lovely pub and garden. Nice warm welcome from staff. Perfect place to stay if you want a long walk on the beach which is just a minute down the hill. Stay at the Canfield: have a lovely pizza dinner at Banfi in the village; go for a nice long walk on the beach; long drink in the Canford pub garden. You're not going to do better than this in southern England in 2024.

My husband and I have stayed at many other Young’s Pub hotels before, so we knew we would get a beautifully decorated room and be greeted by friendly staff. The staff were very accommodating in letting us switch rooms and they even moved our belongings for us! We enjoyed the drinks, coffee and breakfast. However, we found that the dinner menu was very limited and the medium-rare steak I ordered was extremely tough and not good at all. When comparing dinner to other Young’s Pub hotel visits, I was very disappointed. Overall, I would recommend staying here due to the hotel’s cleanliness, short walk to the beach and accommodating staff- I just hope they reevaluate their dinner menu and quality of steak.

The fridge, the internet and the telephone did not work, however, our stay was excellent. Afternoon tea in the garden, a splendid dinner and a very comfortable room. Definitely not a 'Cruise ship' hotel. We will most certainly return if the need arises.

My stay at the Canford was delightful. The staff were exceptionally accommodating, the rooms were elegantly furnished and supremely comfortable. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to both the beach and the village is perfect for those looking to enjoy the seaside or grab a coffee and some treats from the excellent local bakery.

We lived the Canford! Unique boutique rooms with thoughtful hampers of treats. The garden is great for summer - quirky tiki huts and beach huts to enjoy a drink and meal. The menu was plentiful - the staff couldn't have been more helpful. And just a short walk to a breath-taking beach.

We booked this hotel 6 months before we were due to arrive a wedding. The hotel let us know a week before our stay that they were having ‘a bit of a makeover ‘. Unfortunately it was too late to find another hotel close to the venue. The hotel felt like a building site , difficult to get round the wet paint and dust everywhere. Check in was frustrating, having given our room to another guest in error and then having to wait for the guest to move to another room. The room lacked natural light so was tricky get ready for the wedding We felt that it was overpriced and the hotel should have closed during the refurbishment or at least offered a reduction There were 3 couples and we were all disappointed

Booked the trip months ago and were particularly impressed by the restaurant menu at that time. A week before our stay we received email saying the hotel had some renovations planned. Unfortunately, they did not say it was the bar and restaurant We were left with an average pub menu in a building site. It was very disappointing. A discount would have been appropriate.

Room was nice, only a few things with the bathroom could do with repair. Breakfast and the service was very good, staff are very friendly and helpful and always attentive, Car parking is sometimes difficult to find a parking space otherwise very nice and location is good.
