With a polar expedition operated by Quark Expeditions departing from Ushuaia, I booked a room at Fueguino Hotel in advance of embarkation. The hotel was easy to locate - I was on foot and was traveling light, so the hills leading up to the hotel were not an issue. Our expedition was departing from Hotel Albatros – an easy, 10-minute downhill walk from Fueguino Hotel. Although check-in time was enforced, I was able to drop my bags off and explore before checking in. There's a very convenient grocery and liquor store - La Proveeduria - across the street from the hotel. Hotel staff were present throughout the day, and I found them to be helpful and friendly. I found the hotel reasonably priced, very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was firm and comfortable; and there was a window opening into the street. There were no single-use plastics, the bathroom was very clean and well-configured, and the room temperature was comfortable throughout my stay. There were a spacious dining area and a small but well-stocked bar, with drink prices typical for Ushuaia hotel bars. Breakfast (included in the room price) was ample, with hot and cold buffet offerings.
