Its relative proximity to Calais makes Le Bec au Cauchois a perfect choice for a stopover for any trip to France. The rooms are all individually decorated and have all of the comforts one needs for an overnight stay. They each have their own entrance, motel style, so unloading luggage is especially easy. There is a lovely view over a small lake at the rear of the property which is right in the heart of the countryside. The minibar deserves a special mention as it contains a selection of both soft and alcholic drinks, all of which are regional, as well as some homemade chocolates and nougat. After an excellent night's rest, one can look forward to the breakfast in the morning which one is invited to order the night before, in order to minimise food waste. This is very admirable, as food waste is a pet hate of mine and should be eliminated as much as possible. The quality of the offering, which is almost entirely homemade, including excellent vienoisserie, really shines through and ensures that a similar gastronomic experience to the dinner the night before is offered to their guests the next morning. Who can ask for anything more than a stylish room, which abounds with thoughtful touches, coupled with a truly excellent, high quality breakfast?

For my partner's birthday a very nice evening A very nice table of succulent dishes with very nice flavors from the vegetable garden or local producers We will return. a small flat on the service, I have always been served before my wife it's a shame in this type of restaurant

The Coquelicot room is simple but functional, with a lovely view of the pond. But: - the room at 170€ is not spacious enough for my taste. - it is not equipped to be able to have breakfast there because there is only one chair. There is okay like the bed as a seat but it is not very practical. - the arrival in the room with the cars parked just in front of each American motel-style entrance door, I find that very average - the terrace and the outdoor table filled with dead leaves (it is certainly autumn) are neglected . - in the middle of a period of energy sobriety, putting the heating on 5 when it is 20 degrees outside is nonsense. Let us note all the same and this is what is also important: - the quality of the bedding - the quality of the breakfast with its homemade products

We returned to Bec au Cauchois for an Nth lunch. If the environment has changed somewhat, the quality of what is served to customers is still there, and I would even say that it has evolved for the better. The marriages of flavors are always a treat for the taste buds. The service is still top notch. The presentation of the dishes is always so beautiful even when you take the market menu!
