DB Villas le Ville del Lido Resort

Our check in closed at 8.00pm so we rushed to get there so we didn’t end up locked out. At 7.40pm we arrived at reception to find no staff there (they must have gone home early) and a note with instructions for us on the door, not v welcoming or safe. We were told to show our ID the next day within a 2hr time frame in the morning - which kinda ruined our plans of sightseeing as we had planned out our day already. My partner asked receptionist there the pool opening times he said until 6pm but make sure you get pool towels from reception before going in pool. We cut our Venice day out short in order to get back and have a swim (before 6pm). At the reception a different staff member was there she bluntly stated the pool is closed for maintenance- we weren’t told that in the morning! They had no more info , this was annoying because I booked this hotel on the strength of the pool (we love to swim). We swam in the sea instead. Hotel gets a star for the close location to the Lido beach and nearness to water bus. Being messed around twice we took our time on the 3rd day of a trip, I did not trust staff regarding the pool as it’s obvious that there’s no organisation between staff members as they tell guests different things. We also had to request new towels and for someone to clean our apartment or at least take out the kitchen bin. There was no door hanger to say’please clean this room’ and we were a bit confused. My poor partner had to go to reception like each morning - it’s bad service when we paid for 3 nights a considerable amount of money. Also our apartment was advertised as room with garden terrace but it was a view of industrial bins in the street and the car park, with a bit of hedge lining the street. The decor needs an update as I had the same navy carpet back in the 90s. Our sofa was uncomfortable and the light fixtures needed dusting. The extractor fan in main bathroom was v noisy sounded like a jet engine, hard to not wake up your partner if you needed the bathroom in the night. Our double bed had a dent in the middle of it and we could only get one plug socket to work (with a 2 prong travel adaptor). 2 stars for location and a functional (if old fashioned) apartment. The issues above were quite stressful so I would not return to this hotel if visiting Venice again.

This was my favorite place I stayed during my trip to Italy. The rooms were charming, clean, and well appointed. The staff was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The grounds were beautiful, and the location right across from the beach on the Adriatic was wonderful. If you are visiting Venice, I highly recommend it.

We arrived at the property at 7pm to find reception was closed, despite both the email and the notice on the front door saying it was open til 8pm. A note was left asking us to visit reception from 9am the next day, disrupting our morning plans. Check in the next morning went okay and the staff member was hospitable, informing us the pool was open til 7pm. We came back to reception at 6pm to request towels and was told by a different member of staff it was closed for maintenance and would not be open again. The next morning the member of staff at reception did say the pool could be opened 'in an hour'. Overall the service seemed very uncoordinated and the property was very dated, however it was clean and fairly quiet.

It's an amazing resort for family stay. Very nice, heated pool. Friendly people, great location. It's a bit off center but perfect for beach walks and swimming. The furniture is a bit dated and they need a bit of a nudge to clean the rooms, but it's me trying to be picky. Overall 5 star stay. I would absolutely come back.
