Palazzo Pianca

This is the only hotel in Europe with a free mini-fridge! That alone gets a perfect score from me! We arrived in Venice just in time for sunset. Taking the A-line water bus from Marco Polo Airport, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset cruise. We got off at the S. Maria del Giglio pier, and after a short walk through a narrow alley and a right turn, we were at the hotel lobby – super convenient. The guy at the front desk was so much fun; he kept chatting with us using a translation app during check-in. The Peacock Suite was huge, with the living room being four times the size of the bedroom. I thought it might look old from the pictures, but it wasn't at all; everything was newly renovated, and the bathroom was spotless. We had a pleasant overnight stay and discovered that just over 100 meters east was the main St. Mark's Square area, and the shopping streets were also nearby. Friends, I highly recommend it! Book it now!

Location: A 2-minute walk to the water bus stop, but it takes 40 minutes to get to the hotel by boat from the train station. It's fine if you're taking your time. Decor: The design is stylish, but the materials used are average. The sink in my room kept leaking onto the floor, which was inconvenient. Pros: A wide selection of complimentary drinks in the minibar. Cons: The bathroom had a drain smell, and there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, which disturbed my sleep.

Basic. The room was dusty and one of the receptionists had a really unhelpful attitude. The location is just okay, and the rooms and front desk are in separate buildings. It's decent value for money during the off-season, nothing special.
