Joivy at Campus San Giobbe

The atmosphere was lovely and it was very quiet. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk to the Grand Canal and close to the train station, which is super convenient. The staff were incredibly polite, which was another plus.

Very close to the train station, which is super convenient. The hotel is located within a university campus, so the environment is great, and the staff are wonderful. You can also watch the sunset from the hotel, it's beautiful.

Seriously amazing value for money! I'd still recommend it even with all the issues below. Pros: >> Smoking rooms on every floor. The terrace outside the lobby is also smoking-friendly with tables for dining – it's the best! >> Free water and sparkling water available from the lobby on the first floor! Refilling water when coming and going is a lifesaver (it's €3 for 1.5L elsewhere). >> There's a kitchen for cooking. The one on the second floor is 24/7 and the microwave works great. Issues: * There was a power outage once, which was startling, but it was resolved. (Venice sometimes has these as it has no nuclear power plants). * Using the laundry requires an app, and it took two hours to pay (even with U+ roaming, the speed was terrible). * Laundry detergent isn't provided... and I didn't know who to ask. Thankfully, I had brought one of those sheet detergents for handwashing, just in case, and it came in handy. (Better to have some kind of laundry facility than none, regardless of how clean the equipment is, I guess lol). The staff were friendly in their own way and tried their best to be helpful.
