We stayed the Victoria Hotel for one night before traveling further. We arrived early and were able to access our room early. The room was very modern and comfortable, the bed cozy and the shower excellent. Breakfast had a great variety of options. Booking tours was effortless ad walking to the Victoria Falls from the hotel was easy and safe. Loved the colonial feel.

We decided to stay at the hotel because it was considered very prestigious and beautiful. It was quite expensive, and our expectations were also on par with the nightly rate of over sixty thousand rubles for two, including breakfast only. I read the reviews and was dreading going. I can honestly say that all the reviews are real. So, first things first. 1. The hotel is beautiful, the views are stunning, as are the grounds. The hotel is historic, and the atmosphere is excellent. 2. We had a room with twin beds, but for some reason the system wouldn't let us book a double room. I asked for an upgrade, and they did. Everything was great. Well, that's all. And now, back to reality. All communication at the hotel is disgusting; they treat you with displeasure. It's as if I arrived as an unexpected guest; they display a terrible display of laziness, fatigue, and unwelcomingness. Not a single person behaved well in their interactions with guests, except for one young man who delivered our suitcases. I even gave him a tip; he was genuinely polite. The others behaved terribly. Upon arrival, we ran into a difficult situation with our luggage. It didn't arrive for us. It's not the hotel's problem, I understand. But we were tired and exhausted. They showed us to our room. They didn't offer us water. There was coffee and a welcome for guests. They didn't offer anything. I went and poured water for my wife and myself. The reception staff was terrible, everyone's faces were exhausted, there was no happiness or joy in being there. Just a look, as if I were asking them to do me a favor. The room. It was a bit dated, but that's the style. There was a mosquito canopy over the bed. They closed it for us. We slept under it. In one night, we were seriously bitten by mosquitoes. Really. Two of us. So badly that we haven't recovered from them for a week. At first, I thought maybe it was bedbugs. No. Probably not. We slept in fear the second night. We were afraid they'd bite us too. We understand, this is Africa. But we weren't sleeping outside. We probably should have poisoned them. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Room cleaning. To be honest, it was perfect. They cleaned three times a day. That's the only service here. Breakfast. Breakfast wasn't exactly delicious. The omelette was cooked on an old stove, and when you eat it, you can taste the old oil and the flavor. Overall, the food wasn't very tasty. But it was edible. Restaurant. The restaurant is outside; you can't eat inside. It's incredibly hot during the day. I have to say that the food there is very tasty. But the service was terrible. It took a really long time. On the first day, my wife and I went to dinner. The waitress was disgruntled, slow, as if exhausted by her work. It was like we were forcing her to work there. Honestly. It was disgusting. Simply awful. I didn't want to be there. You can't work like that. You can't. I didn't come to the cafeteria. We pay not just for food, but for service and a pleasant experience. And it was as if they threw the food at me with a disgruntled look. It was as if we'd eaten in a fast food market. And I'd like to add: there are five guys on duty outside the hotel selling goods and changing money. They're simply harassing. My wife cried at my place. They chased us. I tried to drive them away as best I could. These people are insane. They harassed us to the point that my wife was simply afraid to leave the grounds. And they're on duty right outside the hotel, knowing that wealthy people live there. I'd like to address the manager and the entire staff. A historic hotel shouldn't be the only advantage of staying here. It was precisely because of your work that I had such a terrible experience. And only the guy who delivered our suitcases was happy. The others seemed obliged to meet us, and their whole demeanor showed dissatisfaction with their work, their unwelcomingness, and their complete lack of politeness! This is unacceptable!

Superb hotel room (suite) obtained at a very reasonable price for the standard. Very good breakfast and tea with scones and other cakes. Very good location and superb garden from which you can see the mist of Victoria Falls and the bridge. Warthog ( warthog in the garden). To test at least one night in Victoria Falls. Lockout restaurant located not far away with a beautiful view of the canyon.

Staying at the Victoria Falls Hotel built in 1904, you can see the water mist rising from the Victoria Bridge and the waterfall. I like [yeah] [yeah] but I can’t add an extra bed. I can only open an extra room for the child

It is indeed a century-old luxury hotel built by British colonists. It shows aristocratic temperament everywhere, low-key atmosphere, thoughtful and meticulous service. The black brother guides you to a special living room for check-in, and sends you wet wipes and lemonade. The back garden of the hotel is facing the waterfall bridge. The most wonderful thing is to enjoy the mist rising from the waterfall while drinking English afternoon tea.

This hotel is a great place to stay when visiting Victoria Falls. The mist from the Falls and the bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia are both visible from the back of the hotel and you are close enough to hear the “roar”. This is an older but very nicely refurbished facility with large, comfortable rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated. The grounds are beautiful and there are many public places inside and out from which to enjoy the views. I really enjoyed all the fountains. There are restaurants on site (as well as close by,) and the food was very good. We enjoyed both menu selections and buffet offerings during our stay. You’re within walking distance of shops but don’t miss the gift shop in the hotel lobby. They have some beautiful linens as well as the usual tee shirts and hats and it’s worth a few minutes of your time. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again.
Response from Property: Dear valeriern520, Thank you for taking the time to share such a warm and detailed review of your stay with us. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the unique views of the Falls, the comfort of our refurbished rooms, and the variety of dining experiences on offer. It is wonderful to hear that our gardens, fountains, and the charm of our public spaces added to your experience, and that our team made you feel welcome throughout your stay. We are also pleased that you enjoyed browsing our gift shop – it is indeed a treasure trove of local finds. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable visit to The Victoria Falls Hotel. Kind regards, Judith Guest Relations Manager

Iconic and beautiful grand hotel of Victoria Falls. Loved the traditional feel, the amazing gardens and pool area, and of course the spectacular views over the gorge and the mist in the distance of the mighty waterfall. Wonderful stay and highly recommend. Food was superb with multiple dining options and the location is ideal for many adventures all around Victoria Falls area.

The hotel is 100 years old and a fixture in the area. It is built and decorated in British style. It is quite large and must have been luxurious in its day, with many hallways, staircases, and wings. Actually, it was a bit spooky to walk through. I got lost trying to go back to my room from the outdoor restaurant. Now, the rooms are clean, but not very modern. However, they did have mosquito netting! There are long hallways that have a musty odor. There were no outlets near the bed to charge phones and other needed devices. The staff was friendly and attentive. Food was good, but not gourmet. They did have high tea, but we didn't join. The property is very pretty with statuary, gardens, and a nice pool area and a lot of seating nooks throughout the lobbies. The gift shop had very interesting items.
Response from Property: Dear 110wendis, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are pleased to know you enjoyed the charm of our historic property and the hospitality of our team. We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the room features and hallway mustiness, and we are addressing these details with our housekeeping and maintenance teams as part of our continuous improvement. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back on your next visit to Victoria Falls. Warm regards, Judith Guest Relations Manager
