We had a pleasant stay at the Arbutus Inn and it was a good base for us to explore Victoria. We chose this hotel because it was affordable and parking was included. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The room was well equipped with air conditioning, mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and very good lighting. The beds were comfy and the room was mostly quiet during our stay. The bathroom was good and the provided shampoo, body lotion and bar soap for the shower. They do not provide daily housekeeping here but you can pick up more things or put in requests at the front desk. We feel extra attention should be given to the AC unit, mini fridge and shelving for cleaning.
The location for the hotel was good. There is a good diner across the street and some decent restaurants nearby. It is a 20 minute walk to Chinatown and 30 minutes to the inner harbour area which are both worth exploring. There are a couple of bus stops nearby which can get you to other areas of the city too. We drove and felt it was easy to get into and out of this area. National car rentals operates an office here as well if you need to rent a car.
