Mandarin Oriental, Vienna

The hotel is brand new, or rather, it was created by the reconstruction of an existing building. The design is incredibly beautiful. The entrance lobby and reception have an intimate atmosphere, which is complemented by a wonderful scent that will transport you outside of ordinary time. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The room cleaning was always flawless and discreet. Everything is of very high quality (bathrobes, slippers, hotel cosmetics, tea, coffee in the room, etc.). I chose the hotel because of the beautiful wellness. The pool, as one of the few in Vienna, has a really pleasant water temperature and is equipped with massage jets. The design of the space is truly beautiful and evokes well-being and relaxation. In the wellness, one employee actively offered me tea and water - Reniegene, to whom I thank very much for his services. He was really very hospitable and professional. Everyone should provide it, not just anyone, or tea should be freely available somewhere. Otherwise, infused water with citrus is in the relaxation room. Unfortunately, no one refills the ice, so the water with fruit spoils in the heat and the water tastes stale. There are only 4 sun loungers by the pool (there could easily be two more). The sun loungers are very short, so if you are not only 1.5 m tall, your legs will be sticking out. Too bad, because they are very beautiful sun loungers. The gym is one of the best I have seen in a hotel. Breakfast was served only a la carte during my stay. The menu is not very varied, but everything is fresh and high quality. I missed the sparkling wine, which is included in most 5-star hotels in Vienna. At breakfast, I recommend communicating with the staff a lot so that they bring you everything you want, because they do not have everything on the menu, but they will do it. They will bring great homemade pastries on request - sweet and savory, but you have to ask. I wish you many satisfied guests from the start. I would love to come back.

The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect. Right in the heart of the city, yet away from the busiest tourist streets. It’s a fairly quiet area. The atmosphere at the hotel is serene and stylish. Of course, a new hotel is usually stylish, but it feels like they’ve put effort into respecting the building’s history here. Everything in our room was just right, although storage space was a bit limited. There’s enough storage space for a few nights’ stay, but for a longer stay, you’ll need more closet space. Perhaps upgrading to a higher room category would solve that. Cleanliness was top-notch, and the Wi-Fi and other amenities worked flawlessly. A minor complaint is the TV interface (MO), which could be better. There were enough electrical outlets, and they were in the right places. There were no complaints about the noise level. The comfort of the bed is probably a matter of taste, but for us it was way too firm. One small complaint is about the inconsistency of housekeeping. Sometimes things were arranged with a bit of thought for the guest’s perspective, and other times they were not. The value for money was a bit of a letdown, as one would expect everything to be top-notch at this price. A minor complaint is the poor control of the room temperature. You can only adjust the temperature yourself using the air conditioner, and it felt like you couldn’t get it cool enough. On the other hand, when the cooling was on full blast, it created a slightly unpleasant cold draft. Overall, a good experience, though there were some oddities with the breakfast service. Everyone was very polite, but orders were mixed up or forgotten, and we had to ask for the bill several times, yet it still didn’t come. This may be due to the stiffness of a new operation, but it should be corrected as soon as possible. However, there were at least enough staff members, so that wasn’t the reason. I still believe they do have a bright future ahead.

Stayed unexpected due to a flight cancellation and a rebook via Vienna. Have always wanted to stay here! It did not disappoint. It feels brand new. The room is gorgeous with a tasteful colour palette. The bathroom is outstanding luxury and super gleaming. The onsite brasserie was great. Definitely try the house sparkling wine. It beats champagne hands down as its made especially for MO. Lovely bedding.

The reviews for this hotel should be so much higher. The hard product and service are unbeatable. The rooms are brand new, tastefully designed and highly functional. The service was beyond amazing - best I’ve experienced in Europe from beginning to end. To give a sense of just how good the service was, I messaged them on WA asking for the MO panda stuffie my son’s friend got at the MO Paris. They didn’t have it, but we came back to a large panda stuffie and a thoughtful note. When we headed to the airport and the taxi driver wanted to unscrupulously charge an incorrect flat rate, MO staff responded to me immediately and called the taxi company who resolved it with the driver within minutes. When my son needed hot milk 2-3x per day, the staff delivered it quickly at no charge. Breakfast was quick and delicious in their restaurant. Bed was extremely comfortable with the best crisp sheets and a pillow menu. The children’s amenities were excellent - slipper, robes, soap and lotion. In short, I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and wouldn’t come to Vienna if I couldn’t stay here. It was completely delightful and I wish we could have stayed longer. Already planning my next MO stay.

The hotel is truly excellent, and the level of service provided throughout my stay was exceptional. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made my experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so pleasant.

Fantastic location, and walking distance from St. Stephen's Cathedral. The hotel is luxurious as expected, and the service was excellent. Special shoutout to the bell staff and concierge, with whom we had exceptional interactions and who made us feel at home. Special mention to Ashkan, Sammy, Sasha, and Ferdinand!

This was my second stay here after previously staying for 3 nights in May. This tile we stayed for 4 nights. Even tho the first stay was quite ok, this second visit was extremely good. This stay might be the top hotel experience I have ever had especially if considering value wise. We got a sweet upgrade to a stunning 92m2 suite. The difference between basic rooms and the suites was enormous, which was one factor that positively made this stay better than the first one. The design was stunning, connecting modern and timeless interiors. Even tho the hotel is stunning on public areas and inside the rooms, the staff and their inpeccable service was what made the stay so special. Just to name a few aspects where they made the stay so great. 1. At arrival, we were greeted at the taxi, greeted by name before we even said anything, and directly escorted to the suite to check in, where everything was prepared, all they needed was a signature. 2. We asked for a steamer before we arrived so we could head out to dine with ironed clothes. They informed us that unfortunately the steamers were all occupied but they could therefore steam and press all our clothes for free at their laundry. This was exceptional customer service, especially as it came from them before I even knew there was a problem. It is always much nicer when they already have a solution to a problem, than lesving customer to suggest ways to fix the issues. 3. At breakfast, we never needed to say our roomnumber, they always knew without asking. 4. The staff suggested us restaurants and bars to visit during our stay once again before we even asked ourselves. They made a great list and delivered it to our room while we were out. 5. At breakfast, they had no issue to make dishes outside of the menu. Whatever we asked, the answer was always ”of course”. (We did not ask for anything exotic, just a platter of fruits, omelet with no oil or butter, x pieces of that pastry etc.) I also had a massage as I had some neck issues. Thru out the years, I have had multiple massages in luxury hotels, mainly sporty / muscle tension massages. I must say, the massage here was the best of all time. It was not the most personalized, some hotels ask personal preferences, oils to choose, etc, but massage wise it was clearly the best. The only issue we faced were some extremely loud and wild kids at the pool area, who splashed water all over, fought with the water ”toys”, jumped in the pool for 1-2 hours one evening. That really disturbed everyone who was at the spa at that time and turned tye relaxing and calm place of relaxation into a kids playground and pool at a 3 star all inclusive hotel where screams and water splashes filled the place. I believe the staff should have interfeared them, as I also belive kids should not be allowed to be there without supervision?. The pool ares was so wet and overflowing, that your toes would literally be under water if walking from main door to any lounger. This is not

Wonderful hotel!! Delivered a five star experience from start to finish! The decor and interior design are stunning. Every employee we interacted with had the upmost professionalism and always had a friendly and happy attitude. Everyone was so helpful and cheerful from start to finish. We booked a Mandarin room but were upgraded to a Premier Suite which was truly incredible. This was Mandarin at its best for us! The location is great because its a very short walk to the sites, but removed a few blocks from the hustle of the busy tourist streets. The bakery nearby, Offerl, was great, as is the coffee shop Cafe Rooster on the block. My husband used the gym and loved it. It was also August and the AC in the room worked great. We debated between this and the Sacher and are so glad we chose the MO due to its modern style and comfort and the rooms were a great size. We will certainly be back!!!
