Hotel Enziana Wien

Very basic hotel, no more than a 2-star. The linen was clean. The breakfast was decent for a hotel of this caliber. There's no air conditioning in the rooms, only a fan, so sleeping would be uncomfortable during hot summer nights. The toilet smelled of sewage. It's about a 30-minute walk to the city center.

The location is excellent and strategic, with a supermarket, tram station, dining options, and S-Bahn all within about a 10-minute walk.

No AC, and the fan was practically useless. The bathroom stank, and the hallway was stifling hot, with AC only in the lobby. The Wi-Fi was also pretty bad. But the worst part was the cleaners – either they're incredibly rude, or the management system is terrible. They kept knocking on my door from 9 AM, even though I hadn't checked out yet! They knocked 4 times in the two hours leading up to the 11 AM check-out. Besides the convenient location, this hotel is a nightmare. There was also a huge portrait of a Black man by the bed (no ****** intended, but it was genuinely startling to wake up in the dark and see it staring at me). The sofa was filthy too.

DISAPPOINTING. The ventilation is there but doesn't work. No air conditioning in 35-degree weather, the TVs don't work, and there aren't even fans in the rooms. The beds and bathroom were filthy. We proved all of this to the Trip.com customer service representative with videos. Not only were they unaware of the room conditions, but when we tried to get a refund as soon as we saw the room, they refused. Thankfully, Trip.com resolved our issue. This is definitely a place to avoid, it's more like a rundown accommodation than a hotel.

The location is super convenient, very close to the city center and just a short walk to Rennweg station, which offers direct trains to the airport. The room itself was clean, but there was a puddle of dirty water on the balcony outside the window, and pigeons seemed to be living there. Also, there's no air conditioning, so summer could be unbearable – I doubt a fan would be enough. That said, the value for money isn't bad, and it's perfectly fine for a one-night stay. The staff seemed understaffed and busy.

The hygiene was terrible. I had to sleep wrapped in my own clothes because the pillows were so uncomfortable. The bedding hadn't been changed. Less than 20 minutes after checking in, I reported it to the front desk, and she actually said, 'You've been checked in for three hours, how can we change it now?' I told her to check the check-in time herself. Eventually, they gave me another room, but the duvet cover and pillows still had hair on them, and the sheets had obvious stains. I asked the front desk for clean bedding to change it myself, but they said they didn't have any. On top of that, the window wouldn't close, and someone was smoking outside at night, so smoke kept wafting into the room. It was a really bad experience. I checked out quickly the next day and moved to another hotel. It was around the same price, but the cleanliness and service were much, much better.
